    Default Showtime!!

Pettis may be the best P4P. We really need to see that Aldo fight now. Glad to see Barnett back but damn Mir needs to figure out how to not get trapped on the fence. Mendes looked very sharp and that big Korean (Lind?) is a monster.

I wouldn't say Pettis is p4p king. I think he does enough to compete with henderson and get the win somehow, he isn't dominant. I don't see him going on a long winning streak. He may have henderson number but I dont see him being successful like Jon Jones, silva, gsp, aldo. I would consider henderson in that league more aside from losses to Pettis whom seem to be his badluck charm. I just don't see any elite losing to a Guida caliber. He has a lot more to prove. Terrible decision by Henderson to get careless. He could of dominated that fight.

P4P is obviously very subjective but you can't put Henderson in that discussion and not Pettis. Stylistically they are very similar. He doesn't do "enough" to compete with Benson? He damn near ko'd him the first fight and submitted him inside the 1st round last night.

I just don't see any elite losing to a Guida caliber.
I didn't see GSP losing to Serra but I don't think that loss somehow diminishes his career as a whole. Pettis needs to start adding top names to his win column to be truly be in the P4P talks but his talent level is there by a long shot. The Guida fight showed a deficiency in TDD but it looked like he has improved that area from last night.

He could of dominated that fight.
A lot of things could have happened, but what did happen was that he didn't dominate it and got submitted. He is the first UFC Champion (not interim) to lose their belt by submission in a decade. That doesn't happen often b/c it takes a very talented fighter to submit another elite fighter.

Pettis looked outstanding. He has all the tools needed to be a top p4p fighter. His stand up is nasty and some of the kicks he throws are right up there with the likes of Silva and Jones. He can work of his back and isn't afraid to take the fight there. He's been working on his wrestling.

I would say he is a more complete fighter than Aldo who's submission game we are yet to see at a high level. That fight needs to happen after Pettis defends his title against Grant.

I can see Pettis holding onto that strap for a long time.

I don't think it was so much Henderson getting careless and more so Pettis slapping that submission on like an expert. After the fight Henderson was giving him props on how well he locked it on.

Also if he could have dominated that fight why didn't he?

I'm just glad henderson lost since nobody is actually going to convince me he won that second edgar fight, so he shouldn't have had the belt to begin with. I remember people were bitching about frankies close fights and he only wins on pts....well what the fuck did henderson do. I digress pettis looked good but he might be one of those fighters who can't live up to his full potential due to injuries, hell he was out for close to a year, and in his first bout back gets injured again. I could also see him getting graplefucked by someone like khabib in a year or two....

I really wonder about how durable Pettis is too. He's good and locked that armbar up fast, but if he's going to be plagued by injuries, his time in the UFC will be short. A big buildup and the fight is over before you can finish a pretzel or have a drink of beer, I was bummed!

I recorded it but haven't watched it. Personally I'd love to hit the mat with either of those two ladies
