Nice. McLaughlin is probably one of the best players ever technically, I find him really bland to listen to though. Funnily enough Jeff Beck calls him the greatest player alive Each their own, these are a few of my fav's. You play right Brockton?

I suggest starting with some basic chords (unless your surname is King) after learning how to tune and hold the instrument. You could do worse than look up a Mr Burt Weedon and give yourself a day to master the basics. Also make sure you are wearing a shiny new silver whistle and a pink shirt and tie.

These aren't live or anything, but two of my favourite things ever written for the guitar. \

Dope man, I can play that same tune myself Wish I had a proper steel guitar though.

If you really like that style, check out guys like Sylvester Weaver, Furry Lewis, Bukka White, John Hurt, Willie McTell etc. Legends.

Eric Clapton, Brian May, Sting, Pete Townshend, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and countless others were all "taught" by this man.........what a musical influence on everybody he had.

super but this guy has so much damn reverb on there it covers up the first note of each little arpeggio almost. between that steel and the 'verb it is like being in the Lincoln Tunnel and hearing it bounce back at you in a millisecond time delay. Very good and interesting effect.

He is using a Gibson Dobro Resonator guitar acoustically, there are absolutely no reverb or other effects at all. The conical resonator plate on the guitar is designed to both amlify and resonate. They have been around since 1928. I have worked with a close friend who plays great slide and Dobro but his YouTube is down at the moment. Here are a couple track from an album we made together a couple of years ago called "Ghost on your Shoulder" which you can buy here

Ghost On My Shoulder: NJ Buckingham: Amazon.co.uk: MP3 Downloads

All the guitar work and lead vocals and song writing are his. Everything else Drums, Keys, Backing vocals ,percussion,Tibetan Singing Bowl, programming, production etc is me

nice and dreamy and dark.....like that 6/8 ride cymbal in Seven Things good work and nice piano there in the 1st tune. Dobro has nice flange effect it seems in the left channel on both tunes
