    Default R.I.P Mark.E.Smith

The Fall have finally fallen. There are words but they deserve to be hand written and dragged thru the mud. It still would not do the man or his work justice, much like weaving. They don't do stuff like that any more. RIP for a proper outsider who had no interest in putting on something you thought suited him

Damn, that's a shock. I respect Mark E. Smith's singularity. He always did what he wanted to do. Over the years very little compromise and it didn't make for very easy listening, but The Fall were unarguably The Fall.

Ripped, torn, re-made, constructed, unfettered , unsympathetic, heartbreaking, timeless, old-fashioned, whiskey sodden, gloriously broken

Gutted, but not surprising, I had him in my 2018 deadpool

    Kirk Douglas
    Clint Eastwood
    Prince Phillip
    James Corden
    ~Mark E Smith~
    Neil Young

I love the fall, I was listening to them just last week, only had the pleasure (if that is the right word) of seeing them once a few years back.

I'm gunna have a Fall day tomorrow and then watch silence of the lambs in tribute to the great man.

They weren't to everybodies taste and that's understandable but when you got them you FUCKING got them

Heard Terry Christian talk about him on the radio today. Sounds like a great character, a huge influence on the Manchester music scene and a big drinker who made great music.

Anti-immigration, pro war. Hated the Labour party for not backing Thatcher over the Falklands war (he wanted to obliterate Argentina). Hated the champagne socialist studenty types that gush about him, including fellow bands.

There's a fine line between genius and ignorant thick pisshead. Fascinating character.

He would probably have been at home here if he had learned to use a keyboard. His immigration views are very much those of the common man.
