This notion about Pac Man fighting who he is told to fight, I don't think that excludes Mayweather. Roach wants Floyd, Pac wants Floyd, any promoter with half a brain wants Floyd, especially if that promoter has a hold of Pac!

    What a stupid comment!!

It's a matter of honour, credibility and money and public satisfaction for Pac AND his whole team. It's a matter of all except for money for Floyd too AND his team.

Pac and his whole crew (trainer, manager, promoter) want it.

    Floyd doesn't.

    That's the point.

It's a legacy pounding, shameful disgrace for Floyd and there can be no twist of common sense that describes the situation any other way.

And again, this is coming from someone who views both boxers in an egalitarian light!

Both are to blame and I hate them for depriving us fans the opportunity of seeing a great match.

Agreed. People can take whatever side they want, but in the end it was TWO prima donna athletes who couldn't come to terms about money, drug testing, ect and it cost us the fight of the century.

People are quick to bring up Floyd's excuses and inconsistencies, which is fair enough, but if you're going to do that, why not also bring up the fact that Pac refused olympic style drug testing because he claimed he was afraid of needles, and that it would weaken him, ect.

Every Olympics, THOUSANDS of athletes go through Olympic drug testing without issue and (to my knowledge) NONE of them have come out and said "this really hurts my performance, I'm weakened, ect".

blood tests can weaken you. olympic athletes usually do urine tests, and after competition they do the blood. not before a competition.

How many boxers have refused to fight someone because they "suspect" steroid use?

Anyone who blames one and not the other is only seeing what they want to see. And frankly being dishonest.

Go back, drug testing was a roadblock Floyd created to those that choose to believe that. Impossible. The fight was agreed, with drug testing in the contract. It can not be what stopped the fight if the fight was happening with it. Something else stopped it and testing was the scapegoat.

Look at the thing that Pac fans point to now as outrageous Floyd won't deal with Top Rank. That's preposterous to the Pac side, it's laughable because Arum said he wouldn't deal with Golden Boy Promotions years ago. Don't act like you don't remember both sides saying Bob wouldn't take their calls or call them back.

Or remember when Bob said Floyd doesn't dictate when Pac fights? Before that Bob did the exact same thing from the original fight date to the countdown clock.

Both sides pull the same crap. Pick a side that's fine. But if you put the blame on one side without the other you're being ridiculous. I mean needles weaken me, stupid. Pacs cut needs 8 months to heal, or Floyd has been sentenced we might take that date, oh Floyd pushed it back well we need a build a magical unicorn temporary stadium that could be fabricated and constructed in weeks but we can't get done until right AFTER Floyd turns himself in.

Point is both sides have a litany of excuses and both sides are to blame. They both got rich off not fighting just as they intended. And they both played roles directly from professional wrestling. It's not even a sophisticated act and it's transparent. Those that don't see it choose not to.

Regardless of Manny's losses, it's apparent that Floyd is afraid to fight him. Simple.

Floyd is showing a classic trait of a black man..

Based on my experiences with the brothas, I would describe them like this.

Lot of black dudes have a certain attitude and if they perceive u as weak, they will walk all over you but if you do something to gain their respect, they will literally be scared of you. They will either punk you or fear you, no in between...

Floyd fears Pacquaio after seeing all those victims.

A little blood withdrawn a week before the fight? Come on. And even assuming it would make a huge difference, it's something that's going to effect both of them, so why would it be an issue? Especially for a guy who's had some bloody wars like Pacquiao.

Boxers don't refuse it because don't have the power or financial security to, because it will mean losing out on a big payday. Floyd has the power to take his ball and go home.

People smashed Mayweather HARD for the drug testing thing, saying "who is he to demand special stipulations", "that's the commissions job not his", ect ect.

First off, in terms of "special stipulations", Manny came up with the stipulation that Floyd would pay 5 million (I could be wrong on the figure) for every pound Mayweather comes in overweight. I don't think it's standard rules for a guy to have to pay 5 million for every pound he comes in overweight - if it was, Lomachenko would be a very happy man right now. So both guys were posturing and demanding special stipulations to protect themselves: fair play to both of them.

As far as people doubting the validity of the Olympic-style drug testing stipulation, you have to realize that the athletic commissions have a PISS POOR track record of busting cheats and protecting the fighters.

They let Resto beat Billy Collins nearly to death with doctored gloves, and would have gotten away with it if Collins' dad hadn't felt his glove after the fight. The commission would have let Margarito batter Mosley with loaded gloves had Richardson not caught him (and let's be honest, who knows how many times Marg used those and got away with it.)

In terms of PEDs, the commissions drug testing is EASILY circumvented. Guys are not getting caught by the commissions: in general, they are only busted with the FBI raids the lab they bought their PEDs from and finds reciepts and records with their names on them.

Floyd's record is very special, he's spent 17 years beating a lot of tough guys to get it, and I don't fault him for wanting to ensure that the guy across the ring from him is on the level.
