Kovalev should jump ship. Top Rank seems to be losing power every day.

He's with Main Events. I think they've done a great job with him. It's hard to believe nobody wanted to sign Kovalev before Duva

Wow Maint Events has a fighter that actually matters?

Is there a rift between Main Events and GBP? Why can't they make this fight happen?

Network issues probably. Kovalev has a contract with HBO..

Not that I know of. Although there was that he said/she said thing with Duva & Schaefer. I think it's more of a network thing between HBO and Showtime.

IMO kovalev is the best LHW. i think that he beats bhop. watching bhop fight shumenov, im more convinced that he beats stevenson. they are both lucky if they get to avoid kovalev.

Kovalev should be grateful that a fight against B-Hop does not look likely. No-one has an easy night against Hopkins. I don't think I ever even seen Hopkins hurt, never mind knocked down (Yeah I know he has been knocked down), or badly beaten.

Hopkins has history of schooling these big punching killers (Trindad, Pavlik, Pascal)

Kovalev has never faced anyone, anywhere near having the boxing brain, boxing smart, ring intelligence of Hopkins.

I don't care how old Hopkins is.

If the fight does happen I can imagine Kovalev coming into the ring way over confident "Yeah I'm just walking down this old man and KO him"

    Happen. Not. Gonna

Is Kovalev good enough to get a decision over B-Hop ? I think not. So he's most likely gonna have to do what no other fighter has done and that's either stop or KO Hopkins

Hopkins is 49, and surely, surely time has to catch up with him one day, he can't just carry on smacking down these younger cats. I actually think Adonis Stevenson is a fight that Hopkins would struggle, as Stevenson has the mobility and athleticism and power to cause Hopkins problems

Funny how boxing changes. Stevenson is 36 himself, back in the day, he would have be seen as an old timer, but that's boxing nowadays Klistchko is pushing 40, Mayweather is knocking on that door too, so Stevenson would be coming in as the MUCH younger guy .....at 36 (lol)

But Hopkins has nothing to prove and he has no need to fight Kovalev or Stevenson. His record speaks for itself.

If there is no need to fight Kovalev then Bernard should just retire. I cant believe how bad this kind of thing sounds generally but it really hurts the ears when it comes from a throw back like him. Sounds like a man that has nothing left to prove which is true. So why talk of Floyd for ones 50th? He needs to then stop talking about things like "undisputed" or misusing "unified" to suggest the same. In fact maybe stop using any word that begins with a u. He's already unified so why bother with Stevenson? Its also an insult to anyone that has followed the sport for Hopkins to make it sound like someone else is in charge of his career other the him. Pimple.

I believe Kovalev is more dangerous for Hopkins than Stevenson. B Hop will have a tough fight against Stevenson but I think Kov beats Bernard.

Precisely.. Hopkins can deal with one handed fighters like Stevenson..

Kovalev is a different animal though.

Would love for Hopkins to fight either Stevinson or Kovalev. In fact I'd love any of them to fight each other but I fear bullshit networks disputes and promotors might fuck it up for the fans.

This is one of the reasons why hopkins isnt a throwback fighter.. despite his age, he thinks and operates just like the young fighters with all this cherrypicking..

Kovalev is one of the best and the most talked about fighters in his division so if there is no need to face him, why even continue fighting? Smh this is fuckin bullshit talk from somebody who claims to be old school.. throwback fighter my ass..lol

At this point of his career, he can fight anybody he wants regardless of politics.. its not as if he's a cash cow of goldenboy , if he wanted to, he can face kovalev and I bet gbp would support him.. hiding behind network and shit..

Hopkins has a group of fans who will always watch him regardless of the circumstances and a fight with k8valev can easily be made if he wanted.. he's in that kind of position right now..

And he bullshitting about kovalev " ducking " him.. its bullshit.. kovalev agreed to everything in the past but it was hopkins who took too long to sign.. that's why kovalev chose to face Cleverly because hopkins was holding them up..

Throwback my fuckin ass.. James Toney is willing to face anybody without question.. he's one of the few guys who has called out ever5body and their mamas for years.. JT is the last of the breed, he a true old school fighter..

It is 100% mental, if Kovalev stays outside, moves side to side, so Hopkins won;t be able to get set; does not let the frustration of repeating the same activity all over again come in, fights like this every round, he might beat Hopkins.
