    Default Boxing on Radio

Hey, I was wondering if there were any old timers here who at one point experienced boxing via radio. I think satellite radio still announces matches and replays old fights. The few clips I have heard sounded pretty exciting. I find some sports translate well on radio. I actually prefer listening to a baseball game on the radio than watching it. Football on the other is crap on the radio, IMO. I wouldn't think boxing would be good via radio but as I said what I have heard has been interesting.

This may not be a great thread but it is something that I have been curious about as I try to familiarize myself with the history of boxing, of which I still know very little

I listened to Hearns v Leonard 2 and found out I disliked Colin Hart because he had Leonard the winner even when you can hear the crowd booing the decision.

Heard Tyson v Bruno 1 on radio and was excited by the first round knock down in 15 seconds and Tyson getting wobbled.

I also remembered listening to some of Hatton’s fights on radio when I was poor. We now have streams now so less reason to listen to the fights but do remember listening to the interview of Froch v Groves on radio 5 live.

Have listened to plenty of fights on the radio but " there ain't nothing like the real thing, baby" is so very true, in my opinion.
When TV came out, radio was dead as far as I was concerned. Same thing with color TV.
We live through our eyes, nothing else compares.
Would I listen to radio if I had to, sure, but I could never trust another person opinion as much as my own eyes.

You get some good radio commentary streamed during the fight. Try it.

BBC radio 5 live, very good commentary, they probably will do Grove v Froch 2.
