I've been boxing for 2 years now, and when ever I'm done sparring i get dizzy. Also when i get hit with a clean hard punch i see a flash of light for a split second. Are these two things common when sparring?

They are normal, and i wouldnt call them symptons just a days work
While we 're on this subject....does everyone else have headaches after sparring?? not everytime.
I usually get headaches a few hours after sparring and i've settled down. Sometimes when I'm having a great defensive day I have no headaches though. This is normal.
Good point Missy, can't believe I never mentioned staying hydrated. Good to see someone's on the ball.
Only had this once after a hard fight
Lucky you i never get a flash of light![]()
You should try strenghthening your neck that should help, but some people just take punches better than others.
Vex, be careful about the flashes of light part.Make sure your wearing headgear, and spar no more than twice a week with a tough opponent. If your not getting hit in the eye you shouldn't be seeing flashes of light.
just dont go to this light, its not jesus just sleepy time. If you are getting headaches it could be just your brains being smashed around, a slight oncoming of a ko or sometimes even frustration. Or the not so obvious headhears a bit to tight cutting off circulation and what notOriginally Posted by Trueplaya
Are your flashes of light, dots of bright colour which looks like a spaceships and eventaly moves away, and you still have vision even if it is a bit interupted if so it is just dirt in the eye.
Might want to check your blood pressure b4 and after sparring
Remember to breathe too, its easy to stop when your under a barrage of attack and that'll get you dizzy faster.
