Then, he was supposed to fight an immediate comeback bout in late-December
1974 to prove that he was fine.
In January 1975, it was announced that George would retire.
But George reconsidered, and stated that he was fighting in February 1975 in
Japan for $1,000,000.
But that blew up when the Fight Purse never arrived.
And then it was George vs. Oscar Bonavena for March 24, 1975.

It worked out well for George, if he carried on he would have got beaten by Holmes and never had made a comeback.

He made more money from the grill than he did with his boxing a bit like Paul Newman and his business of whatever he made.And you know Jimmy Young was a God send.
After 8 years George came back as a bit of a boxer and did quite well for himself.
