Default Arm wrestling help with hooks? (THUMB)

Yesterday I was at the Canadian Western national's arm wrestling competition in Edmonton Alberta what surprised me is that many of the techniques used in throwing hooks left Hooks right Hooks involve grounding planting your feet transferring your mass from 1 foot over to the other foot. Including your THUMB has a huge role in that. what is your opinion is it good to join an arm wrestling club improve Hooks?

Smart observation, I've heard a few different coaches make an analogy to arm wrestling when teaching a left hook, specifically in terms of where to move the weight for leverage. I don't know if competing would actually help but understanding how it works may give you some valuable insight.

It took me months to understand scrap and his thumb but yes it has a lot to do with hooks. To quote scrap the thumb is the digit to the IQ.
