Okay I am about 6 foot and 230 punds I was wondering if I can get some tips for dieting, I'm just getting started and I have no real experience.
I wanted to know if there are any tips I can get from the pros trainers and advanced boxers.

do you want a diet to lose weight or just to a healthy diet ?
to lose weight do all protein no carbs....not fun at all but it works...probably not good for you either
in a healthy way just eat what you usually do just have less
Starving your body of Carbohydrates and doing intense exercises like Boxing is a bad idea. Just keep the Calorie intake down until you reach your desired body fat level and then eat as much as you do. Cut down on teh fat rather than the carbs and do long duration low intensity exercises which will make your body use its fat reserves as energy.
Yea, ummmm...lol yea.Originally Posted by Lyle
You will lose weight like that, but its a very unhealthy way to go about doing it. Your body needs carbs for energy and also for muscle repair *I believe*. I tell everybody 60% Carbs, 30% Protein, 10% fat (healthy fat mind you). And keep the calories 2,000 or under. Unless you plan on excercising that day, then bring it up to around 2,500...just my 2 pennies dog.
Your sort of on the right track but I would say that on an average day an average man needs over 2000 calories, a woman maybe but not an average man. I eat well over 2500 on a normal day and over 3000 on a training day...Originally Posted by KevK

I agree with Adam. I used to do things the hard way and sometimes not eat at all and go to the gym or eat maybe 500 cals and it affects your performace and can even cause you to develop bad habits cause you lack energy to do the right things.
I usually take in about 1200 cals but I am trying to make weight if I were at or below my fight weight I would eat a good amunt of cals mixed with good carbs (not bad) protien and vitamins.
I think making weight is almost the hardest part about fighting at a low weight.
I've got the problem of being naturally about 83kg but having to fight at 81kg (I could fight in the heavyweight Division, but that is all the way up to 90kg.. I've been 85kg before but I wouldn't want to move up to 90... find I'm naturally better off at 83 and have to get back down.
it takes it out of your body, look at RJJ...
