A guy gets dizzy reading between the lines in that article. They could have summed it up in a word which immediately came to mind with the 3 million demand. Haymonomics.

Leo's own promoter will get stymied on this and for a guy that claims he wants the fight he does appear to be pricing himself out. That is Haymon's influence perhaps because he probably knows that Rigo eats Santa Cruz alive inside. They know full well how complete Rigo is.

If Rigondeaux is going to sign with this new rapper then Haymon isn't going to want anything to do with this fight no matter how much money Golden Boy come up with. Look what happened with Quillin and Korobov.

Seriously. He doesn't want to face Rigo. He'd prefer facing the level of opposition he's been facing for high six figures. What they'll do is fight Mares and not mention Rigo again.

I like Santa Cruz....but Rigo would school him and school him bad.

Three million No way this fight will happen, may as well say "Yeah I'd lose, and wouldn't take it unless it were for as much money as I could possibly make in the remainder of my prime". When was the last time anyone not named Mayweather, Pacquiao, or Klitschko made that for a fight anyways? Maybe Canelo against Floyd, or Marquez or something? Let alone a super bantamweight. What do they expect Rigo to take in that split, 500 grand to make it remotely possible? Joke.

I like Santa Cruz enough, he reminds me of a smaller Margarito with a bit more finesse, and I'd love to see him fight Rigo in fairness. But how the hell he could possibly win is beyond me, and his people obviously don't have much more confidence.

I wonder how deep the riff between him and Arum is? Rigo seems disinterested in going to feather but Loma or Walters would be something to see. I'm pretty sure Walters is a lightweight masquerading as a feather but what a style matchup. Loma and Rigo would be one hell of a boxing match.

I feel for Rigo in a way. Why should he move up to feather if he hasn't cleaned out super-bantam? Frampton, Quigg, Santa Cruz etc. are all at his weight class and are capable challengers. Rigo is now promoted by Roc Nation. It's their job to get him an opponent. They should find a way to get him fights with the British guys if Santa Cruz wants to continue avoiding him.

I like Santa Cruz a lot. He amazed me when I first saw him with the output he produces. He seems to be fine tuning a bit with improved defense but his power isn't following him up. I would like to see him fight Rigo but I think it would only end up showcasing Rigos skill. I would have a lot of respect for Cruz if they did end up fighting. Rigo is a freak of nature who is becoming obscure as he doesn't get any air time. It's like he's too good for his own good. I really want to see him fight soon. Is the talk of he and Loma substantial or is it just rumour.

Same. He's to good for his own good. I think he's the most complete fighter in the sport including Floyd and Ward. Its puzzling that he is not in demand given Floyds pull and salary. But then again the tide has changed since Floyd became established to a kind of highlight reel era. In addition I think I'd rather be knocked out then completely humiliated and dissected over 36 minutes. Quigg and Framptons handlers are thinking smart money and thats those two fighting each other prior to perhaps ending their international run against Rigo. Haymon is thinking the same for Cruz. So even in a division this deep Rigo cant get a fight. Oscar will initiate talks but when the fighters real boss tells him to draw a line in the sand of 3 million dollars its a non starter.

Can't knock a guy for aiming high and a fighting Champ like Santa Cruz deserves it. There's no way they'll crack 3 mill but its a fan friendly fight. Both are off solid wins but showed small glimpses of vulnerability, if only for a minute or two. I like Leo but I think he looked sluggish and out of the ordinary last time out. Not so much the buzzsaw but a guy swinging two wood mauls.
