    He was the real life James Bond. His military career was as storied as his film career. Brilliant actor, brilliant man, he was one of a kind.

    Technically, he was Saruman rather than Sauron, but he left a long legacy and I think the way the movie business has changed means we won't see many more of his like again.

    I remember him for Dracula, scaramanger and my boys remember him for saruman in lord of the rings, count dooku in star wars and depps dad in Charlie and the chocolate factory.
