Default Deontay Wilder vs. Johann Duhaupas, Omar Figueroa vs. Antonio Demarco

Omar Figueroa-Antonio DeMarco Eyed For Wilder Card - Boxing News

Duhaupas lost a decision to Teper but has a win over Manuel Charr. I think Wilder could have a better opponent really, but I've heard worse names mentioned. Not a big fan of the other fight either. Figueroa is nothing special and I thought he lost quite clearly to Burns. I doubt he will be I hope Demarco beats him.

How weird is that, I was just watching the Duhaupas Teper fight earlier today. He will give Wilder rounds but absolutely nothing else.

I'm done giving wilder a pass. He needs to step it up now. The division is so bad that everybody is essentially an easy fight yet he can't even fight the best among bums.

Wilder is steady becoming a literal belt warmer. Straight outta France to some bingo hall in Alabama for Duhaupas (know its bad when you have to look 3 times to spell name on boxrec ). So far the match of the night is Julius Jackson vs Porky Medina. Big step up for the son of the Hawk. Demarco was talking retirement going into his last fight, and fought like it.

When the fight was first announced I wasn't very impressed, either.

Johann Duhaupas emerges as another possible Deontay Wilder opponent

So Deontay Wilder is now talking about fighting........ Johann Duhaupas??

This guy's nowhere near the top 15 in any of the organizations, except for maybe the WBC, where I see he's ranked 12th. Anybody familiar with him? So..... is Deontay working his way back through the rankings? Is everybody else busy that day? This is truly puzzling. Is Duhaupas supposed to get him ready for Povetkin? For someone I was hoping would challenge Wlad one day soon... he sure is taking some strange career steps.

Is Julius Jackson vs Porky on the same bill? I don't understand what Wilder is doing, surely he could make more money fighting someone semi relevant on a bigger stage, but maybe not? Or his people have no confidence he'll keep the belt.. DeMarco vs Figueroa has boring written all over it at this point imo. Could have been an awesome fight a few years ago, but Figueroa just fights stupid and DeMarco looked like he needs to retire last time out.

Depending on the mental and physical state Demarco is in, he is capable of beating somebody like figueroa.

Figuora is a can. A punching bag. He sucks
