Default The most explosive fight in years - Golovkin v Lemieux

This is gonna be an absolute tear up by two big punching KO specialists, i do give Lemieux a decent punchers chance and Golovkins chin is gonna be tested like it hasn't been tested before (some may say it is infact untested by a real puncher)

This is Hagler v Hearns all over again and i hope it lasts a bit longer - i see it being that brutal

You gotta give Golovkin the edge but he is at times very hittable which makes me believe 100% that he is gonna get hit hard at some point which just adds to the excitement.

I'm going Golovkin 5th round TKO, he's definitely my favourite fighter in recent years and it's not just what he does in the ring that makes me say that.

Recent quote from the Face to Face on HBO

In perhaps the most chilling bit of the interview, Kellerman asked Golovkin about his fight with Curtis Stevens, who talked a lot of trash in the lead up to the fight.

"I remember this fight. You're right, Max, you know, I don't lose control. I feel him. Just, you know, I can beat him after the first time I knock him down," Golovkin said. "And for me, it's important, like, beat him, like, maybe, like ... punish him. Yeah. Beat him, beat him, beat him. He understands, he has best mouth. He understands, this is boxing. Respect boxing. Respect sport. This is not streetfight. You want streetfight? Let's go. I show you. We have time. We have 12 rounds. I show, every round. I beat him. Beat him, beat him, beat him. His corner, respect his corner. He has to understand, he said, stop. Stop the fight."

"You wanted to teach him a lesson," Kellerman said.

    "Exactly," Golovkin replied.

I think GGG is going to kill him, wouldn't surprise me if it was over in the first round. Hope I'm wrong.

Could be infact even though Golovkin is a kind of slow starter he's not gonna be able to feel out Lemieux because he's gonna come straight at him throwing bombs.
Should be a war after about 30 seconds which is exactly what we want, a brutal out and out tear up with both fighters punching the fuck out of each other
There's no way this isn't a brilliant war.

I think Golovkins timing and footwork is key here and he'll time his punches and catch him while he's throwing his wide hooks and nail him then go Terminator on him and beat him to a bloody pulp before it's waved off.

I want serious violence from this fight, Golovkin getting bashed about then firing back - nothing less.

I think it will go the distance in a tepid affair personally.

For sure. Smart money is on the Kazak but he's at least getting a different look by a real speedy guy with power in both hands and as the old saying goes a punch can change everything. In addition, its more meaningful then that other fraud championship they are having for the paper belt. David could have milked his title and then wait on the winner of Alvarez/Cotto and really cashed out. Its definitely not going to last so it would be unwise to plan the evening around it and what makes it interesting is that David seems calm with no fear and is going to bring it. He could get laid out early but he could also get the Kazak onto his back foot which I have never really seen before. This fight has some intrigue because of the power angle. David just needs to get there. That is not going to be easy but he's short, fast, has torque and delivers his shots similar to Tyson. He's got to get inside and the earlier the better. I really like the Kazak and think he's the REAL middleweight champ but I'll be waving the flag in this one.

Lemieux only knows how to go 100 mph so that will be his game plan. GGG knows this and will be working on timing his counters. I would be shocked if it went past 4 rounds.

If the Lemieux that boxed Alcine shows up, could be a disappointing fight. It will most likely be a barn burner

Yes and Master you beat me to it as well.

This is like Benn vs Barkley with GGG being Benn.

Lemieux is a sheep being led to slaughter. I have doubts he will make it out the first

He said today that he's gonna "lift Golovkin off his feet" with a punch.
He's definitely showing no signs of nerves at all and is very confident of winning this.
You cant not give someone who punches hard if not harder than you a chance of winning this, I expected Golovkin to win but want a war along the way.
This is the most excited I've been for a fight this year because you just know it's an all out fight, there's no other way this pans out exept a proper tear up
