Default Do you see yourself bashing the younger generation as you get older?

Every generation, there's always people who rag on the "new, younger" generation (in some cases it's due to jealousy and lack of self-fulfillment/underachievement).

The type who will rag on how your generation is so much better and the new generation lacks "respect, values,...", "the world is going to shit, blah, blah....". Or the type who hangs on to a particular way of life and tries to force it on everyone else like some older people. We all know of people who are like this.

Do you see yourself becoming this person?

Oh I hate the new generation with a passion. Millennials are vapid, obnoxious, and addicted to their phones.....but the reason they are the way they are is due to the generation that raised them and the generation that raised that generation.

I merely look to add and subtract from past generations, I take the good, I leave out the bad, and this is of course for not only myself but for my fiancé and for our future children. For example political correctness, I feel that it is horrible to not be able to say what you think and feel as an individual for fear of hurting other peoples' feelings....I would rather my children learn to think for themselves and speak for themselves rather than parrot out a bunch of cultural Marxist horseshit.

Oh no doubt most of the political correct brigade have no idea the origins of that movement but I assure you it is Cultural Marxism. What is political correctness but the vehicle to bring "newspeak" to the people?

'Good' and 'bad' are abstract concepts; that you use them perhaps shows that you too for all your denial are too parroting the 'Cultural Marxism' you claim to despise and want no positive relationship with?!

Well perhaps you'd care to test me on 'good' and 'bad'? We could play a little game, you give me something from a certain generation or culture and I'll answer with 'good' or 'bad'. Example you say "Honor Killings" and I'd respond 'BAD" or you'd say "Chivalry" and I'd respond 'GOOD' .....well it's up to you if you care to take me up on that offer.

As for Cultural Marxism, I'd rather have people communicate openly and freely saying what they MEAN rather than pussy footing around the issue with some newspeak bullshit.

But my point is your comments could not be more cliché 'Cultural Marxism'. Your own need to label everything, be that good or bad; open or reserved, is a classic example of what you claim to despise...

Only issue with that is....I'm not forcing my views on anyone. I have my views, they are mine, I own them. Other views I deal with and that either goes in the "I agree" or "I disagree" but I'm not saying you can't do this, you can't do that I'm saying "I am ok with this" and "I'm not ok with that".

But you already stated you will 'force' your views on any potential children you have. You also debate on a forum, thus you could potentially influence someone, and as 'force' in this context is another abstract term, some may say you 'force' your views here.

Thus your defence of: 'It is OK, because it is not forced', seems a bit flimsy.

Fathers provide examples by their actions. If asked I will impart the knowledge I have. However, I shan't allow my children to be indoctrinated by cultural Marxism..by that I mean I will implore them to question rather than blindly accept what is taught even if it's coming from me.

And never did I say or imply that I would force anything on my children.

Not really. If anything I feel really bad for the kids growing up today. Fifty grand for a substandard education, a society with unchecked immigration and the jobs all shipped to Asia so you can only work in Starbucks, ecological chaos with fracking and climate change, central banking meaning everyone is bankrupt from birth, property ponzi schemes, it goes on and on. No, I blame the older generation for it all, the kids did nothing wrong. They deserve a little respect. All this respect your elders in a world that spits on the young. Nope, I have nothing in common with the staid, content, old people. I am with the permanent anarchy and angst of the kids.

You wrote of "taking the good and leaving the bad" for your future children. You then wrote your labeling was OK because it was not forced.

I pointed out 'forced' was an abstract concept in the example given, and as my argument was that the 'Cultural Marxism' you write of is abstract, it was fair to say you will 'force' something on your children to further my case.

That said, I hope you did not take offence. I used force in single quotations because the term used in this context does not mean what is generally considered its meaning, it is abstract.

I work in the public service and see a wide variety of people daily and interact with them and I have to say that its not a surprise to me that the majority of these new gen rampage/loony-tune/robotic killers are twenty somethings. I think technology has a lot to do with it. I believe a chair in the middle of a hallway confuses them. Many have faced no rejection or mental adversity their entire lives. I think their brains are wired different. Btw I'm not saying ALL.
