    Default Joel Julio

This guy looks very good. Does he have what it takes? I've read on other threads that certain people believe he will clean out 147. When does he start? Who does he fight first? I like the guy, and believe he has a chance to make some noise, but clear out the division? I don't see that. Any comments?

When he can make his weight at 147 again then maybe he will.

On June 24th Julio will get beat by Carlos Quintana. Quintana trains will Miranda in Puerto Rico and is very powerful as well. It should be a great fight, but I for one thing Quintana is the better fighter.

That's what I left out of the thread. I'm glad you mentioned it. That's one reason I can't see it happening. How do you stack him up against the other guys at 154?

At 154 I don't see him having the advantages he would at 147

Would you give him a shot at Ouma or Karmazin? How about Mayorga or Mosely, or even Vargas?

I think Julio has the potential to clean up both divisions. His natural build is definitely towards that of a middleweight so 154 would probably be most natural for him. Considering he has virtually no amatuer experience he is an incredibly smart fighter, patient when he needs to, and defensive if that is called for but when he unloads he is like nobody in either division.

I'd love to see him in with Margarito in a big slugfest. I'm confident Julio would be too strong and big for Maragrito who failed when he moved to 154lb. Julio is the only guy on the horizon that I see challenging Mayweather.

typical....c'mon it's a 50/50 fight, both are strong, and young prospects, the only advantage i'd give to Quintana is the fact that he's a southpaw. I for one would rather see this fight after each establishes themself as a world class fighter, something i think both have the potential to do.

I think he's good but his defense is cause for a bit of worry. Seems to have great power and sets up his punches pretty well. I think he's a 154 pounder, they might get him down to 147 to win a title but doubt he'll stay there too long.

Quintana should beat him as he is the better boxer. Im not sold on Julio. He has power but his skill is lacking.
