    Default Press Conference Verbal Fights

What are the best press conference fights that you've ever seen?

The funniest smack talking episodes I think were:

    1. When Mayorga told Oscar "You are a little b****! I hate little b*****s."

    2. When Floyd Mayweather Sr. told Mayorga that he couldn't fight and "he" could beat Mayorga's a**.

    3. Also, I like Don King (promoting Judah) for the upcoming fight calling Floyd "Pretty Girl" Mayweather.

most everything that comes out of mayorgas mouth is sad and pathetic imo.although he does have some funny moments, like when he thought it would be a good idea to stick his chin out vs tito. what mayorga says is more along the lines of wtf did he just say than comical imo. it does not even have to be in a press conference, in a photo shot for his upcoming fight vs odlh he repeatedly called the golden boy a maricon. which is sad considering the history behind that word in boxing.

The best press conference was the one for DLH Hopkins where Hopkins made his speech and showed the picture of himself as a child with the ring magazine magazine in his hand and making his speach that if he could make it, then no one should give up because he fought and they could too. That one stood out as one of the best podium speeches of all time to me.

My favorite is holyfield v moorer , when during his speach, he underestimates his own strength, slams his fist down and breaks the podium.

I dunno about you guys but I think Ali had the best press conferences ever.. Just the way he got under his opponents skin was so classic.. Not even neccesarily just press conferences but publicity stunts.. Does anyone remember that picture of Ali in Fraziers Gym locker room before there fight and he's locked him out, just making faces at him for the cameras when Frazier was supposed to do a training session for the media.. That was classic, Frazier just standing there with his gymbag, dumbfounded.. Same with the Foreman press conference..

"Last week I saw George Foreman shadowboxing, and his shadow was winning."

Not sure if this is true, but I rememeber reading that Mayorga once told an opponent he would send him to see his mother (the opponent's mother having recently died). That is truly disgusting and boxing shouldnt want to associate itslef with such a figure, hopefully Osacar knocks his block off.

Yeah that was Cory SPinks.. I think MAyorga said that after he lost, could have been before.. Either way Ive never had any interest in the guy since.. WEll he can't fight anyways but still, I wouldn't like him if he was a great boxer for saying something like that.

Mayorga apologized to him after that and handed Cory the belts.

At the weigh in of the first Cooper Clay fight, Cooper plucks a hair from Clay's chest with a comment along the lines of "look he is a man after all".

Riddick Bowe punched some bloke once with a couple of punches, possibly Larry Donald ? Shame it wasnt Larry Merchant !

    Barrera punched Morales as well.
