for all the cheeky chappy normal bloke from Manchester, man of the people and all that bollocks you can't help but feel that he has some real demons and I always get the feeling that he may not be as nice a bloke as people make out.

Having said that he was the man that got me into boxing in a big way, I followed him right from the start and my mates couldn't understand why I wasn't going out on the piss because some unknown bloke called Ricky Hatton was fighting.

Sometimes with fighters, they may be done with boxing but they aren't done fighting.
The damage is two punches and sprained wrist from falling.

I love Ricky Hatton too and hope this doesn't turn out to be true. There is no doubt Hatton has his demons and at 37, if he isn't going to get on top of them now, he might never do so. You just cannot go around breaking somebody's jaw. It is far too serious. He has everything he can ever need, has had a career most can only dream about. Give up the drink for good. It's just not worth it. Hatton should drop the drinking buddy yes men and live a quiet family man life. Or he can just carry on and there is no future in that. Just bloatedness, courts, and alienation. Is it worth it?

Seen Hatton a few times in Tenerife, he drinks in The Dubliner if anyone knows it? I can't imagine Hatton is the bullying sort and it's only this guys version of events and how he made "a joke" about Man City... Hardly something that would provoke a beating.

Not defending Hatton, just think he probably has to put up with drunken idiots all the time. Maybe more to it.

On a separate note, my missus was on a Hen Party a couple years back and seen Hatton pissed out his face in The Dubliner. His shirt soaked where he'd spilt his drink down him. One of the girls on The Hen is pretty fit and Hatton said to her (in a slurry Manc accent) "I'd treat your fanny like a diiiamond" Ha ha always makes me chuckle.

Some ass hole's will try it on even on a pro boxer.
Hatton my have some demons but he is enjoying a drink and some fool has a go and then gets, a good hiding and starts crying.
Ricky is know longer a pro fight you could say he should know better.
But who only a fucking idiot would pick on a former world champion.
Remember chaps there are plenty of idiots out there THAT will have a go.!

I thought this was normal practice after a few beers for Brits? So Hatton should be okay.

REMINDS me of a story about Rocky Marciano. A promoter had been floating the idea to Marciano to make a comeback and take a shot at Ingemaar Johanssen's title for a cool $2 million supposedly. Rocky actually went into secret training for the fight. It was 1960 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Rocky was at a wedding reception and there were quite a few drunken macho men there. One guy starting taunting Marciano saying he was old and washed up and that he could lick 'em. ,So Marciano got up and approached the guy, and the whole place got quiet thinking there would be a big fight right there. And Marciano says to the guy and his friends: "THEY'RE OFFERING ME $2 MILLION TO FIGHT JOHANSSEN, AND THIS GUY WANTS IT FOR FREE!"

The man's account of the incident is totally fabricated, absolute bullshit.

It is but normally it is vomiting rather than a fight.
