    Default Ward vs Kovalev 2..Money

How bad is kovalev going to get stung on the money side in the rematch..

Now Ward is the unified champ that means he takes even more in this A side - B side situation.

Whether you like it or not..this is the only option for kovalev..What do you reckon..80-20?

    90-10!?

Kov always gets the short end of purses against B Hop and Ward. Kov just gets in there and fights. He is a god of a warrior like Kratos.

I think he gets a 65/35 or maybe even 60/40. I don't think he gets taken advantage of by that much.

He'll get whatever the rematch clause says he gets. You don't negotiate from a position of no power, that would be foolish. You work that out while you have leverage. Expect the best but prepare for the worst.

I wouldn't necessarily say he's got no power. It's not like Ward got an undisputed decision. Ward needs this, if only to make clear what wasn't made clear the first time. If he tries to come back with some ridiculous split knowing full well Kov can't accept it, he's a punk.

Its going to be bad. 70-30 again at least. It will be bad enough that Kovalev could walk. Because if you can have 3 belts, fight a returning guy that looked lousy in his tuneups, just got to your division and you're only pulling down 28% (not counting whatever Kov's cut of ppv earning was --160k buys) ... You win the fight in most people's opinion and get screwed out of a victory, are you willing to do it all over again for 15%?

You know ward and rock nation are going to try to press every advantage and even try to create more where there's not.... I'd wait till wards first intermediary fight (you know hes gonna ask for at least one or two) can't draw flies to sh*t and kovalev smashes someone else before negotiating percentages. It wont pull their heads completely out of the clouds but the numbers should at least be better than what roc nation is thinking now. They wont even negotiate because Ward its tired from fight his first hard fight in 6 years.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

What are you guys talking about negotiating? This stuff should all be hashed out in the rematch clause. If it wasn't his manager should be fired.

Ward probably needs a decisive win much more than Kovalev in the eyes of the average fan because Kov will always be a crowd pleaser, regardles of whatever decision he gets. More so if it's such a questionable decision.

I think he actually does have plenty of bargaining power over Ward. So I'd say W-90%-K-10%.

I read that Ward's team is potentionally stating there really isn't a rematch clause. If they do pass on the Kovalev fight for now I'd hope he'd fight Stevenson and the Kovalev after that.

Kov should just stay active and fight Stevenson or whoever to win back a title and force Ward for the rematch but ask for more money.

Ward needs Kov as no one really wants to watch Ward unless it is someone that presents a challenge to him.

He is doing the Floyd retire threat. I highly doubt he will on such a high. He will make a number of defenses first.
