... and Bantanweights, for that matter? We find LighHeavies to be "ok", and Jr. Middle to be acceptable. But Cruisers? Like the dog shit of the divisions.

Perhaps it is a newish division and we all love Evander Holyfield who was the greatest at the weight. I am stretching my point there.
If you are a boxing fan then you should like all weights.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
It's because every great CW wants to be an HW.
Saying that, the current CW division is one of the best divisions in current boxing & is probably in its healthiest state since its inception.

Who is we? Because it’s my favorite division right now because all the best want to fight all the best
For the record I hate the WW division because it’s loaded and nobody wants the hard fights except Spence
The WW division is so frustrating.
I can't remember a time when it was so stacked with talent, but like you say, the best fights just don't happen often enough.
Porter is willing to fight anyone, anytime; Thurman has a great resume, but he just doesn't fight often enough & Spence Jr is up for fighting the best too, but the others just seems to want to fart about.

I like the Cruisers and the Bantams.

I dont think it has to do with the division. Many of the good cruisers that could be the staple of the division were either too fat to be a light heavy or middle (where probably the best balance of size and skill can exist without being unhampered by bulk... or skilled but too small to be a heavyweight and go after what historically has been boxing's biggest prize. There were some great cruisers, some good cruisers and then some that just wound up as cruisers because they couldn't hang above because of size and couldn't hang below because of they couldnt keep their weight down.
if light heavy is the jr version of heavyweight... then having cruiserweights is like an official canelo, 155 lb division... 160 is too big.. but 154 is too small.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I'm fine with them, more so Bantam. Want to really be treated like you don't exist..try being a Flyweight or walking in at 105 lbs and trying to intimidate someone. You could be one of the greatest boxers of all time but still doubted because we couldn't pronounce your opponents names or tell you how good they were.
cruisers actually have the best of both worlds, solid ones can reach top level and once on career slide bulk up and become heavyweight also ran. From Al Cole to David Haye..skies the limit.

Rocky Marciano had to fight guys who weigh 220 lb but Rocky Marciano really was only a Cruiserweight as he fought about 185 pounds. So if we think of Rocky Marciano as a heavyweight then I guess when we seek guys now who fight at 195 pounds and call themselves cruiserweights we get a funny feeling inside that they are somehow wimping out and that they are big enough indeed to fight at heavyweight. Give me a break 195-lb is plenty big enough to fight a guy who is 220. now of course we have 250-pound guys enough now so yeah that would be a difference but personally I have no problem with cruiserweights I think it is just not been promoted properly.
Rocky didnt fight any good heavies though at 220+ Think the only guys who were above 220 were Bill Wilson and Johny Shkor and they were muck. Joe Louis was prob the biggest and he usually just crept slightly above 200. I think its pretty unreasonable to expect guys who are naturally 195 region to compete with guys like Fury (265+), Joshua (250), Wlad (240). Its giving up over 25% of their weight in the ring and would be the equivalent of a 160 pounder facing a 200 pounder
Both divisions are really starting to warm up. Cruiser should already have a unified champ but the WBA and Lebedev put a spanner in the works. We'll have a recognised champ by the end of the WBSS tho. Bantam also has a unified champ in Burnett and it looks like Burnett/ Tete is a must to happen.
