Default Fabio Wardley v Jarrell Miller

This fight kicked off yesterday at their press conference but that is typical of Miller who likes to press buttons that deflect from the drug cheat that he is.

Jarrell Miller taunted Fabio Wardley by wearing a Norwich shirt held at Ipswich Town's Portman Road. Wardley is a lifelong Ipswich supporter and gets his dream of fighting at the stadium on 7 June when he faces Miller for the WBA 'interim' title.

Miller unveiled a Norwich top with ''going down 25" on the back in reference to Ipswich's likely relegation from the Premier League this season.

"I've been doing my homework and I'm going to support the other team," Miller said before unzipping his jacket to reveal the bright yellow shirt.

"There is a reason why I've been avoided for many years. I had one slip up against [Daniel] Dubois but I had three weeks notice for that.

"Real warriors travel anywhere. I've been in people's back yards before."

Miller was referring to the one loss on his 29-fight record which came in December 2023 when he was stopped by IBF heavyweight champion Dubois.

Miller served a two-year doping ban after twice testing positive for a performance enhancing drug, in 2019 and 2020.

The news conference them became more heated shortly after when Miller accused Wardley of disrespecting him by making a "diss song".

Miller stood up and approached Wardley before the pair were held apart by security on the stage at the side of the Portman Road pitch.

"I was being respectful but he made a diss song," Miller said.

"I don't play this sport. He hasn't ever been in a ring with someone like me."

Wardley looked perplexed by the accusation and tensions boiled over further when Miller shoved his hand into the undefeated Briton's face.

"I haven't made any songs," Wardley responded. "Whatever you heard isn't me. I don't know what song you think you heard but I didn't make anything.

"If I did it I would stand on it."

Both fighters eventually returned to their seats and Queensberry's Frank Warren, who promotes Wardley, apologised for the scenes.

"This is not a good look for our sport, not a good look for boxing. I don't want to be seeing this," Warren said.

"We want the stadium fight in June, not today. I apologise."

Wardley was set to face WBA 'regular' champion Kubrat Pulev but will meet 36-year-old Miller instead.

The 30-year-old has 18 wins and one draw on his record, with 17 victories via stoppage.

Maybe it was supposed to mean that he celebrating getting down to 25 stone! Useless fat cunt. Even at his very very best , he’s beat nobody. So why does a washed up drug cheat like him keep getting paydays?
On a final note, somebody told me that he was saying Joshua was on steroids.
    1. Joshua clearly living rent free in his head.
    2. Joshua may be on steroids, who knows. But he is the last person in the World that can throw those barbs around.
    Laughable.

Big PED Baby is still around??

I know the dude scored some good will points for his showing against Daniel Dubois, but DAMN...

How does this glorified walking stuffed sausage keep getting these massive opportunities. Man hasn't won a significant fight in over 7 ? 8 years. Turki promised him another big day check so here he is after all. This whole default trend of presser slap offs is running its course also. Hope Wardley beats the tits off Miller.

Wardley story is pretty amazing. He started boxing relatively late and had was involved in white collar boxing. In the professional ranks he had some good wins recently and the steep rise has been well earned. He is an articulate and funny man so there is a lot to like about him.

I thought Pulev was lined up for Wardley—it seemed like a logical next step. Not sure what happened behind the scenes, but it’s surprising the fight hasn’t materialized. Maybe negotiations fell through or Pulev’s team had second thoughts. They might be saving Pulev for Itauma. Miller keeps getting opportunities he hasn’t earned, especially after multiple failed drug tests. Hard to justify it when other fighters are grinding for a shot.

Wardley said in an interview that Pulev wanted too much money and they took that to mean that he didn’t want the fight.
I don’t know the figures involved and I know Pulev is an old man now, but look at Pulev’s resume against Wardley’s and why shouldn’t he?

I thought the WBA had ordered the fight between the two. Typically, there's a negotiation period followed by purse bids if the sides can't reach an agreement. So why wouldn't Wardley's camp push for a purse bid and either force Pulev to step up or be stripped of his position? Something doesn’t add up here.

    This.

One of the (many) maddening things about boxing. Here's a guy who has repeatedly violated the rules, and yet manages to stick around. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe because there's a definite lack of marketable U.S. heavyweights on the scene today? Who knows. That shouldn't be the reason, because it undermines the credibility of boxing which, let's face it, doesn't need any help being undermined.

That is bad news. Do not know if they can fill a stadium. Depends on who they bring in but good to get Pulev back in. Maybe Ruiz, Hrgovic or Parker.
