Default Lennox Lewis now a regular on HBO. Why????

Just read that Lennox "Yawn" Lewis is going to be a fixture on HBO Boxing After Dark. Why would they get the least charismatic fighter in ages to be part of their team? Didn't they listen to him calling PBF-Judah? He was terribly boring, and just basically repeated the questions Merchant and Lampley asked him. The only guy I found harder to listen to was Foreman.

On a good note, Max Kellerman has also joined the Boxing After Dark team.

HBO needs a figure head on the show.

I didn't really mind Lewis being there...he definently is the most respectful player that they could have put on there...I'll give him that.

Agreed. Love the fact that Kellerman is going to be on with the gang.

I know that a lot of people diss him...but he's pretty knowledgeable when it comes to boxing & sports period. He's got one hell of a personality also.

Give him a bottle of scotch & we got our next Merchant.

I was never a Lewis fan and I agree he was boring and slow talking but this was his first time on, but he is knowledgeable about boxing and I doubt that he'll be one sided like say Foreman was. Once George got on something he said it over and over until I couldn't wait for him to shut up. Give Lewis a shot and I think he'll grow into the spot.

I like Lewis and respect him because he obviously knows what he is talking about BUT they need someone livlier! No offence but he just sits there unless Lampley asks for his opinion on something! However,George Foreman really did speak out of his backside sometimes,I mean great fighter but he did not know what heck he was talking about sometimes! No chance of Manny Steward being a regular? I like him.

I dont know what everyone is complaining about, he knew what he was talking about and although he could be a abit quiet he did a good job.

Maybe he needs the money. Did he work with Don King? Then he needs the money.

Lennox was horrible in the Mayweather fight, and made about 15 paradox's... ONe of my favorite was "Southpaws are hard to fight, but I've never fought one".

He didn't work with Don King, and from everything I've heard him next to Evander and Oscar are the last boxers on earth who need more money. Apparently he's well invested, and he made a shitload to boot in his career especially later on.

Well thats good. But why use him instead of Kellerman? Max Kellerman is the new announcer for BAD what about James Brown, even James Brown the singer who has commentated boxing matches before.

I didn't think Lennox was very articulate, studdering and making mistakes. I remember Lampley asking him a question and he wasn't intelligent enough to figure out what he was asking, poor guy lol. It's a really shitty deal that they lost Roy. What could be better than having one of the greatest boxing minds in history commentating - and if theres anyone more stubborn and bullheaded as Roy it's a powerhouse like HBO, was a matter of time before they butt heads. People just won't take to Kellerman (partly because he comes off as a nerd more than a guy educated on the fight game) or Lennox the way they did RJ or big George.

I absolutely Hated Big George as a commentator... You think someone who boxed for so long would know something about boxing... I saw about 20-30 fights where he predicted one thing would happen only to have what he said earlier be blown up in his face. Commentators are IMO suppose to commentate whats happening not predict the future of a fight when they don't know as much about boxing as Lampley! Which is saying something.

I didn't mind Lewis. Once he gets his bearings, he'll be more confident to speak. I wanna see'em bring Tyson in as a guest analyst every once in a while. You might not understand a damn thing he says, but if something comes through its bound to be interesting.

Oh yeah, bringing in Kellerman is a good idea.
