It seems David Haye is committed to making this fight.....but for wanting this fight RIGHT NOW he should BE committed.
Haye is no Evander Holyfield....and Wlad has never really been pissed off by anyone that I recall....I don't think it's wise idea though
Klitschko is right here though. Haye is an unknown quantity at this weight. If Haye was to fight 2 fringe contenders and win convincingly I am sure that it would become a big money fight. After all, who else is out there at heavyweight?
That's very true...with Sam Peter having a poor showing IMO vs Maskaev and Sultan Ibragimov not doing anything vs Wlad and Valuev and Chagaev thinking they are in some other division and not mingling with the other GOOD heavyweights....if Haye is able to beat say a Golota, Rahman, or a Shannon Briggs he'd be a great fight for Wlad.
Honestly I would want Haye to win a title before they fight so it could be a unification fight but as long as Haye is on the way up it's all good.
I just think Haye HAS to beat a big puncher at heavyweight before he will be able to CONTEND against Wladimir. I mean sure as hell can fight everyone else and all other styles and FIGHT Wlad but to actually have a shot he's going to have to get past a puncher.
If I'm Wlad I go for the KO from the moment the bell rings, no waiting around for Haye to come to you, he's talked too much to allow him any time in the spotlight.
Its no secret to anybody that I dont Like Wlad as a fighter but I definetly respect his class... As much as I am a Haye fan that confrontation lacked any class whatsoever..
I found this this Quote quite gracious despite the tyrade of Haye.
"I understand he is young and enthusiastic but I am committed to my mandatory defence against Tony Thompson and I'm focusing on that."
It's going to be fun watching Haye get splattered on the canvas
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Would be a very similar story to that of haye-maccarineli in that it would probably come down to who landed the most devastating bombs early on.
Wlads ability to pour the jab would make him fave on the night, but peter, povetkin, rahman and even the hayemaker himself all have it within them to have Wlad spark out within the blink of an eye.
Haye is a unified world champion at 200, he doesnt need to spend 18 months fighting 3 bums before we realise he is ready for klitschko.
Start him off with a guinn/mccline
move him onto a british showdown with harrison/williams in england
put him in with maskaev or whoever is then the WBC holder
if all goes well by then, haye-klitschko possibly late 2009!!
I guess no one has ever told David Haye to be careful what you wish for.

Haye has done nothing at heavyweight. He may not even bee competitive in the top 25 for all we know. He has good boxing ability but does he have the ability to take a punch by a solid heavyweight. That is yet to be seen but having seen him hurt many times at cuiser I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt live up to all the hype at heavyweight.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
I for one hope he falls flat on his back trying. The guy is a tool. I saw a television interview with him recently where he said he was the greatest ever Cruiserweight to come out of Europe.
For fuck's sake all he did was beat Jean Marc Mormeck in a fight that really could have gone either way. A win over Enzo means fuck all imo, Enzo isn't remotely close to being one of the greatest cruisers of all time, hell he's probably not even top 5 of the current lot.
Haye is a delusional tool. The greatest cruiserweight ever to come out of Europe would not get KTFO by Carl Thompson at age 42 I'll say that much.
I think Haye may face the possibility of soon becoming a fighter that people only watch in the hope that he loses. This publicity stunt of his has done him no favours whatsoever.
