Nice video and yea it took 15 years to hit him, but what happened when he did get hit?
what happens to every fighter when they get hit with a perfect punch. And Glen Johnson knocked him out the same way that Tate knocked out Sosa, temple shot.
Well he lost...but put it into perspective....they had to wait until he was an old man to hit him...not to mention he wasn't even hungry anymore...was weight drained, home had just been destroyed by a hurricane too and he lost over 50 of his prize gamecock behind that...and he drove to memphis for the johnson fight from pensacola because the airports were down in florida.....and the fact the he probably knew that a perfect shot would drop him is why he was that much better in all the other abilities...besides the shot against tarver was the perfect punch it would have dropped anybody...not to mention the fact that ROY didn't even see it.....Originally Posted by baller

i don't understand the Ruiz fight weight loss excuse because he won the first match against Tarver, so that meant he could fully recover until the rematch...can someone tell me why the weight loss had an effect on Roy Jones in their rematch when he had plenty of time to recover after their first?
If im missing something, pls tell me...I think i might be missing a section of the story someplace thxs.
Roy won that fight. But when you abuse your body with something like that, you never fully recover again. Roy being a disciplined fighter is also a reason. If he had went the JT route he would have just put on pounds of fat to beat Ruiz and then came back to 175 easily losing fat. But he dedicated and put on muscle to get up to 200. So losing that muscle made it difficult. He was never going to be right again after he did that to his body. What I wonder is why Tarver was such a crybaby about not wanting to meet at a catch weight of 190. Because he's smart and wanted every advantage he could get.
But Jones did well enough in their first match to beat Tarver, imo he lost fair and square in their rematch with no excuses. Same goes with Glen Johnson.

yo the song used in this video is a LL Cool J track thats dissing Canibus. If you listen carefully LL Cool J also disses Wycelf Jean calling him the Bob Marley imposter, because Wyclef Jean produced Canibus first album, and he also disses IRON MIKE TYSON in this same song if you listen carefully he calls him the "EAR BITER" and theres a cruncing noise like someone biting into an apple and then theres an imitation of Mike Tysons voice as well.
I know..that's why i chose to use that song when i cut the video.....also because LL says "by the middle of march" ....roy jones made his professional debut in march...also LL asks the question "who ruled for 15 years?" that's why chose that track....Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P

COOL CLICK! i didnt know you were the one who made this. yeah u did a swell job bro. u see real hip hop emcees can battle it out and make classic battle songs instead of shooting and killing each other. im a big fan of real hip hop. belonged to a crew when i was younger. we breakdance and battled every weekend. i give props to real emcees who battle it out on wax and not in the streets. good choice for the video! NIN is pretty pimp soundtrack music too. even johnny cash's cover.Originally Posted by JonesJrMayweather
