The new ratings from the Ring have him moving down a slot (they had him at 5, now he's at 6). My vote is to move him down 2--I don't think he belonged ahead of R. Marquez to begin with, and I don't see him taking out Castillo if that fight were to happen at jr. welter.

He needs to stay where he is in Wacko's book.

He got the win & now he's got another title in another weight class...why the hell would you move him down?

Surely not because RING says so.

Doesn't work that way...a win is a win...no matter how wrong it seems.

That can't be the case, or else we'd have Jermain Taylor high on our p4p rankings. He got not just one, but two consecutive "win is a wins" against a fighter that most had in the top 2 going into those fights. Yet Taylor is nowhere in our top 10. (Note that a single victory against a lower-ranked p4p fighter (than B-Hop was) was all it took to get the up-to-that-point unknown Chris John a spot on our ratings.) Conclusion: some wins count for more than others. This win from Hatton showed that he's on roughly the same level as Collazo--who's a good fighter, but not elite, and nowhere on anyone's p4p list.

I agree I personally never had him in my top 10. Top 15 yeah. I just feel hatton is high on a lot of lists cause tszyu but people don' t realize that tszyu had to do alot more to even be put on the list and tszyu wasn't even on a lot of peoples list before the mitchell fight. I just don't see how he can go from being nowhere near the top 10 to # 6 off just 1 win. Maussa don't count. If he does i guess cotto must be in the top 10 too huh.
Step up so I can put you down

No one thought Floyd might have actually lost either of those fights--he KTFO Sharmba (big difference from looking much worse for the wear than your opponent at the end of the night); and Zab, despite being a 3-time loser, was still far more highly regarded than Collazo.

Look, I'm backing off it a bit myself. I can accept that Ricky maybe had a bad night and will come back stronger. But comparing that fight to Floyd knocking out Sharmba in 6 is a little ridiculous.

I'm with the thinking that Hatton is a good fighter, possibly great,,,, but a p4p spot needs earning.. And I think Hatton just needs a few more fights to prove he belongs there. Even for as small a thing as principal, I think he needs 2 or 3 more fights against some very good fighters, and then I don't think anyone can argue.. I like Hatton and think he can continue to do well, but he just hasn't done enough so far to prove his spot in a p4p list.. Which has absolutely nothing to do with if he has the skills or talent to BE in the list...

Looks like someone's words have returned to bite them in the @$$. I wouldn't call myself a Hatton hater- sure I don't like him, but Joe Calzaghe shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Dick Hatton. Joe Calzaghe is the truth. His initials are JC for a reason.
