Default Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Karmazin vs Spinks

Ahhhhhhhhhh yeah!!! The weekend is once again upon us kiddies...

Now...while some of you may not be interested in the match up that wer'e about to partake in...maybe you should try to think outside of the box just this once & see what is at stake. This could be one hell of a fight...if not...well...this is Wacko's Drunken Round by Round & there is no shame in just kicking back with your buds & booze & just riding this one out stress free!

On the box this Saturday night July the 8th we get to see the return of two of the sports, argueably, most compellingly figures of the game.

Former Welterweight champion Cory Spinks (34 wins with 11 ko's & 3 losses) steps it up to the top of the crop with his first jump into the Light Middleweight division as he challanges the IBF's 154lb main man Roman "Made in Hell" Karmazin (34 wins with 21 ko's, 1 loss, & 1 draw ) on SHOWTIME.

Both fighters have been out of the ring for quite sometime...a year if I am not mistaken for Karmazin, oddly enough it was after a shocking win over highly regarded Kassim Ouma. Very strange that a man would beat an up & coming hopeful & then just take a year off. Oh well...different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Cory Spinks on the other hand hasn't fought for nearly 15 months...that's a pretty good while...especially for a man coming off of such a debilitating & humiliating loss. Cory's nickname might as well be "the Jinx", IWO. He's going back to fight in his hometown of St. Louis & at the very arena where he was knocked out by Judah in front of a sold out crowd at the Savvis Center. I don't get it. Why the added pressure?

Anywho...generally I like to hash out the details & what I consider to be possible factors that could contribute to both opponents winning or losing...but you know what? I aint that big on Spinks...or Karmazin either...so I'm leaving the door wide open to everyone on the board to put it out there.

I hate to seem so unenthusiastic about the fight...but honestly...this fight don't equate to jacko for Wacko!!! Heh heh heh.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh hell...here's my take on it...& I'll be quick & rehash it later...

Not sure whether or not this is for & against Karmazin...but Spinks is a southpaw & a damned tricky one. Southpaws are never really that easy...especially one as fast & slick as Spinks.

The reason that I think that this will turn in to a fight is due to the fact that I think Spinks will want to make a statement...but Karmazin might be the wrong man to do so against.

The little I know about "Made in Hell" is that he can crack & he can take a punch pretty well. Spinks is light handed & the fact that he's jumping up to 154 could be a factor.

I just don't know...I hate to be slack...so I will go no further. I'll just let you, my fellow posters, sort the Factors out this time...give it a shot.

Again...Wacko just admittedly...don't know enough about Karmazin to set up the factors for or against either man. Your input would be appreciated...so feel free to chime in anytime.

That being said...it's been a loooooooooooong week for the Wack-one. Having a couple of days off to start the week ruined my ass...I was a bit more at liberty to consume more than my usual doseage of poison.

Anywho...let's hope for a great match up this weekend...but I mean...come on...this is Cory Spinks here people! Ya'll know me though. No matter what...Wacko shall be here...punch by punch...second by second...& drunken round by drunken round.

That being said...tighten up your panties girls & let's get into the thick of it.

As always...it shall be Wacko's pleasure to stick it out here every Saturday night...this one will be no different.

Break out the chips & salsa, fire up the grill, pour the liquor, & crack open some caps...come Saturday night...it's fight night!

    Cheers & koneecheewah bitches.

Spinks is at the weight he should have been fighting at for the last 2 years.

CC for this Wack,t could turn out to be a good fight! Karmazin is rugged but has he ever faced a boxer like Spinks?? I also read in an interview that Spinks power has increased at this weight so that should help him. I think Spinks wins on points, when you hear Karmazin in interviews,he sounds very wary and somewhat worried, not confident at all!

I think Spinks is going to have a very, very hard time of it this weekend...Karmazin is a very solid fighter and he holds the natural weight advantage over spinks. After what he did to Ouma I wouldnt be surprised if he stops Spinks late on or even works a tough decision...

Havn't seen Karmazin fight yet, but one thing that comes to mind is the last time I saw Spinks fight he was knocked completely out. Curious to see how confident he is at this point

cc wack for DRbR. Im not sure what to think about this fight. Both have been off for a while, it will be a good test for Karmazin in how he handles a true boxer. And Spinks coming into a championship, in a new weight division, and first fight in 15months after being KOed. I think both will be rusty which will make for an ugly fight. I think Karmazin will catch him at some point and score the TKO.

    right back babe.

I don't think that this fight is going to be ugly by any means...but I do agree that the rust will show...probably more for Karmazin. Spinks's rust will be just under the surface as he can pass it off as getting used to the extra pounds.

If Karmazin can rock Kassim Ouma then he should have no problems connecting the fist bones to Spinks jaw bone.

Roman is a big old boy he's apparently a good boxer too, I see him aiming for Jermain Taylor or Tony margarito after this joke of a fight.

Spinks needed to take some warm up fights, he's not only had a long layoff he's moved up in weight and all of a sudden he has a title shot vs I think one of the most dangerous title holders in boxing (comparitively speaking in regards to the level of competition at the weight class)

I gotta agree with ya Lyle. Spinks isnt an elite fighter to begin with, then to go up in weight and right into a title fight might a little to far. He should have test the waters first with a tune up. Somebody said that people are saying Spinks has more pop at this weight. He might have but it still wont be 154 pop, he wasnt a banger at 147 and he wont be one at 154 either.

    Your right on!
Karm is rock solid, Tall, awkward as hell, lots of energy, and solid chin! Russian solid ! Spinks is jumping into the pond without sticking his foot in the water first, that can be very dangerous. Quartey turned this fight down sometime back when he was scheduled to fight Forrest and Forrest got injured , Ike's people saw this Russian as very dangerous and not worth the risk even for the title shot. too many other fish in the water with a bigger name . without the kinda risk.

    CC Wack

Gotto go with Spinks, he is going to cause Karma FITS, IF he comes in boxing like he can, if he is rusty, he will get knocked out, but remeber just because he has been out of the ring doesnt mean he wont be in shape.

Spinks hopefully will have trained hard for this, and he should, walk out with a Unanimous Decision.

Aslong as he has the correct GamePlan
