FRANK KEEN ON CALZAGHE V JONES JR
Frank Warren believes Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jr could finally get it on.
Jones scored his first win in more than two-and-a-half years against Prince Badi Ajamu at the weekend and immediately set his sights on bringing the good times back.
After showing brief flashes of his old self in the wide points win, he immediately put old foes Glen Johnson and the supposedly-retired Bernard Hopkins in his sights, but also included undisputed super-middleweight king Calzaghe in his wish list.
It was a much-touted fight a few years back, but with the former pound-for-pound king also admitting that none of the light-heavyweight world champions interest him, Warren wasted no time in throwing down the gauntlet on Calzaghe's behalf.
"I've said all along that following defeats against Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver, Jones should retire," the Sports Network supremo told frankwarren.tv.
"But if he does want to carry on fighting, then a meeting with Calzaghe makes sense and I'd be very interested in promoting it.
"If he is serious, all Jones has to do is pick up the phone and get in contact, and then we can talk."
Calzaghe, who has called out Jones in the past, is scheduled to defend his WBO and IBF super-middleweight crowns later this year after missing his Cardiff homecoming at the beginning of July due to a hand injury.
