Default Looks like Mike Arnaoutis-Ricardo Torres on PAC/EM undercard

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...dan&id=2578987

junior welterweight titlist Miguel Cotto headed up to welterweight for a Dec. 2 Showtime fight, he plans to vacate his 140-pound belt. The move will clear the path for Ricardo Torres -- who pushed Cotto to the brink in a courageous defeat last September -- to face Mike Arnaoutis for the vacant title. They will probably meet Nov. 18 on the Manny Pacquiao-Erik Morales III HBO PPV undercard. Torres' promoter Top Rank and Arnaoutis' promoter Joe DeGuardia have been working on an agreement for a couple of weeks. "Certainly it is a fight we expect to take place soon, and if it turns out to be in November on HBO PPV, that would be great," DeGuardia told ESPN.com. "I think we'll end up coming to an agreement. It's good for both fighters and it's good for the promoter who's guy wins. It makes sense for all of us to make the fight." Neither fighter has gotten much work lately. Arnaoutis (17-0-2, 9 KOs), who suffered a cut in training and withdrew from a July fight with Vivian Harris, has scored three consecutive first-round knockouts since December. Torres (29-1, 27 KOs) scored a second-round knockout in June, his only bout since the seventh-round knockout loss to Cotto.

    oohhh....

Damn all these fights shape up at the end of the year. Least I have money this time around. Definitely getting this one, along with the MAB - Juarez card.

yeah, to be honest I wasn't all that excited about the PAC-EM fight, but I'm starting to think that Morales might be able to pull it together for one last fight, he's got too much pride to just get steamrolled early, although I do think he'll most likely get stopped late.

This fight makes the card a whole lot better overall. I'm thinking maybe Arnaoutis, thinking maybe Cotto's recklessness made Torres look a bit better than he really is, but he does seem to have a punch. Good fight for both of them, they're both way too inactive.

Arnaoutis should outbox him. But coming off of such a loss as he had against Barrios you got to wonder where he's mentally at.

I think you're talking about "Mighty" Mike Anchondo

Apparently if you're name is Mike its catchy to be "Mighty"

Arnaoutis? ooh the guy who fought Urango and lost his last 2 fights that went to decision. ok him.

Arnaoutis will get strafed by Torres and stopped in 6, thats all.

His last fight that went to decision was against Marteze Logan, it wasn't that close. The Santa Cruz fight could have been scored for Santa Cruz though.

I think it will be an interesting fight, IMO Torres is overrated by most based on the Cotto fight.

Was the Logan fight closer then the judges had it?

I think they all had it a shutout, and yes it was closer than that but it wasn't that close. I don't sit down and score it with the concentration I did like say Hopkins-Taylor 1 but I remember thinking Logan only won like 2-3 rounds at most. He didn't embarass himself but it was clear that he lost. Not a very exciting fight.

    Santa Cruz fight right?

If Cruz gets in like that then I'm sure Torres can and Torres is a harder puncher, but then again so was Urango and we don't know how either of their chins are

The Santa Cruz fight he was very unimpressive. Santa Cruz was the definition of akward, but still he should have looked a lot better.

Was only one performance though, I thought he was very good against Urango, I thought he was better against Urango than Ben Rabah was although I thought Rabah won the fight as well.

Yeah but the Cruz fight Cruz didnt do anything(im serious did he throw a punch?) and then Cruz cam on and was able to rush him.

Awkward was him coming out to the song love shack

Like homer Simpsons "why can't we be friends"

Mike was supposed to fight Harris though why didnt he go after that one? And I think on that night Harris would have beat him

This fight almost looks similar to Cotto-Paulie, hard puncher vs. boxer, but I'm not sure if Torres can go straight forward against Mike. Mike IMO seems at least 1 step ahead of Paulie not much but just slightly. Paulie showed heart but not much as far as boxing goes.

It's the cat & mouse can Torres (cat) catch up to Mike (mouse) or can the mouse set up a trap and catch himself a biggie?

Looks good on paper but well see what happens.

Paulie has better boxing skills then Arnaoutis, Mike's time to get destroyed was coming against Harris.

I don't think he'll beat Torres but we may be overrating Torres because Miguel made him look better then he is or mayhe he is, this fight will tell.
