Default ok, need ideas for speedbag correction.

long storry short, I figured out my speedbag problem. the swivel is the old chainlink type and because of that my bag hits on the seems which makes for untrue rebounds. I need to rotate it 90degrees so it hits on a flat panel.

So, I need to add another piece to the sivel or to the bag. I need something about half an inch wide to connect the chainlink and the leather loop on the bag. Thus, I'm adding a loop (either round or tear-dropped shape).

Any ideas what I could use? I was thinking hex bolt but I wouldn't be able attach it to the leather loop on the bag since it doesn't open...

    any engineers out there?!
    danke guys.

Only thing I would suggest is getting a pro swivel and the title boxing 5*8 bag or the everlast 6*4. I have both with the pro swivel. Trust me you won't regret it. I used to use the swivel you are talking about. I got pretty good with it. then I got the pro swivel and damn, smoothness.

thanks. cc. I bought the bag when I couldn't hit one so it'll do until it gives way, then I'll pick up a top quality peanut. The same story goes for the swivel.

I actually corrected the problem last night after mucho brainstormo. All I did was tie the bag loop to the swivel chain with a shoelace wrapped around as many times as it would go and as tight as I could make it. The rebounds are now pretty true...true enough that I can hit it full tilt indefinitely without wobble. It's still not as PERFECTLY true as your set-up, but it's pretty close.

Simply put, the bag was hangling from the swivel facing 90degrees in the wrong direction.

Yeah that's pretty ingenious of you. That's a great Idea, I wish I would have thought of that one back in the day. I love the speed bag.
