Default Haskins v Munyai....a pale imitation DRBR

OK, so here is a little look at the Haskins challenge for the 'Atomic Spider'. Haskins is stepping up from Flyweight where he is a Commonwealth title to take on Tshifiwha Munyai for the Bantamweight Commenwealth Strap. Munyai took the title in a shock stoppage of Martin Power for the strap back in June. Munyai 11-0-1 and Haskins is 15-0. Haskins looks to be quite smaller, as would be expected with hmi stepping up two divisions. Munyai looking confident and fairly relaxed in the ring. OK, so let's get ready to rumble (i'm too tired for these cliches...hopefully the 2-pint-itis will pass soon).

I got Munyai by decision as my pick, so hopefully it'll be a goodie.

Round 1 - Cagey start. Haskins starts off with massive haymakers, not connectin. Good right by Munyai catches Haskins on the way in. Good right by Haskins, he looks quicker than munyai, He's working the harder so far. Good r-l to the body. Munyai complains its low. Haskins finding the guard a lot. Another big missed haymaker by haskins. Haskins southpaw stance ausing Munyai problems. Good right to the body again.

Good start by the englishman, rd to Haskins. 10-9.

Round 2 - Munyai getting caught a lot on the way in. Miss by Haskins on the way in, the south african punching down twice on Haskins. Good uppercut. Scrappy, lot of wrestling. Haskins lans on the insde, working the body well early on. Munyai only hitting in ones and twos, good right hook catches haskins on the way in again.

Haskins is edging it in work, but will munyai's strength advantage pay off? 20-18 Haskins.

Round 3 - Lots of swingning shots, not a technically good fight so far. Good right Haskins. Jabs from Munyai landing, slapping a bit to the body. Haskins looking a little skinnier than Munyai. Still lots of wrestling, Haskins ducks forward, r-l-r from Munyai. Massive swing and miss from Haskins, good right landed. Good flurry from Munyai, scruffy fight, and all about scrapping so far, not much boxing here so far. Afters after the bell, Haskins looking well wound up.

    Munyai's round - 29-28 to Haskins.

Round 4 - Mickey Vann has a word with both at the start. Good jab from Haskins. Good body work by Munyai, two connect. Plenty thrown by Haskins, but not connecting with enough of what he's throwing. Haskins comes in, Munyai slips forward and hangs on around his legs like a rugby tackle. Haskins has a dig. Good body shots from Munyai, connects to the head with a right. Haskins looking very tired already. Haskins not accurate enough, seems to be running a lot, not answering back as much.

Munyai ties it up with this one. 38-38.

Rd 5 - Munyai coasted the last, after close first 3. Munyai dominating. Haskins leaves himself open, and Munyai jumps in. Wild swings by Haskins, he's tiring himself out ther. Good right to the head by munyyai. Good jab. Right and left connect to munyai's head. Rocked a littlem but recovers well. Munyai gets front foot, Body shots, and to the head from the african. Munyai running the show, connecting wherever he wants.. Haskins graggy. Miracle required al,ready. Haskins does get munyai flush in the face, before the bell.

Munyai takes this one by a distance. 48-47.

I need Munyai to stop him in 10 for the prediction contest, sounds possible if Haskins is already tired

Round 6 - Haskins' corner telling him he has to box. Good right hook from Haskins catches munyai well. Partisan crowd looking to gee up Haskins. Good jab from munyai, haskins ducking forward. Munyai teeing off, haskins nearly went, haskins jumps back. Haskins just wants to tie up. Body shot rocks haskins, he's on the ropes. Haskins reels sideways against Munyai. 3 to the head from munyai. Haskins is gone. Right and left hooks rock haskins back. Mickey Vann steps in. Haskins should have gone a minute earleir. Did well to stay on his feet, but young haskins gets his first taste of defeat in the pro game. Munyai Looked comfortable really.
