Default I found it odd that HBO didn't once mention or pan to Vitali Klitschko

He was only on camera for a brief second. The only time his name was even mentioned was when Lennox Lewis said his name by accident a few times.

The guy is a former champion and may very well be the best heavyweight alive today if he was active, gave one of the comentators the best fight of his life, hes in the ring as a cornerman, and not even a mention from Jim Lampley or Larry Merchant??

I think Vitali would rather the focus be on his brother who is doing these great things in the sport right now.

Paying too much attention to Vitali seems to cause people to think that Wlad is psychologically weak and needs his brother to have his back.

Sure, I can see that...but, not even a mention?  I just expected something like, "In his corner,as always, his brother, former world champion Vitali" from Lampley.

Merchant was probably just too excited to tell his coca-cola/american air story AGAIN.

Well let me put it this way...

... The guy is a big giant douche bag for cancelling the big Rahman fight just a few days ahead of the fight.
    haha

Now I'm a big Vitaly fan, but I gotta keep it real. I even bought ringside tickets to that fight.

The man doesn't want to fight, WHY mention his name.... IT Will only cause more causual fans to talk about his "return." Forget about it. Lets take all the attention to his little brother and look to the future.

Vitali wanted a rematch with Lewis because Lewis was a great champ and Rahman OBVIOUSLY wasn't anything too special.

Why risk being MORE injured if you're not fighting for high reward

WTF are you talking about? If he was hurt then he was hurt. You would rather him go on with the fight limping around and not be able to give his 100%? He could have gone ahead with the fight ,looked like crap, and got his 7-10 million $$$. But he didnt. I think that was the better thing to do.

Heheheh Funny huh? I'm glad I'm the first to say it.

Just about every fighter has fought when they were NOT %100. A date is a date.
And Vitaly didn't give Rahman no more chances... as a matter of fact gave Rahman
TOO MANY chances and each time he "got hurt."

Think about it, are you 100 percent right now? Hell, I have a cold right now.

I'm not saying Rahman could have beat Vitaly, but that Vitaly cancelled his fight
and cancelled all his communication with HBO... I don't think HBO needs to talk
    anymore of Vitaly.

And LYLE, we got too many fighters these days saying the excuse "high risk low reward" bs.
Don't encourage it by making it a valid excuse for Vitaly.

It did seem like the cameras were purposfully avoiding him. Did you notice immediatly after the KO, the camera showed Vitali next to Wlad, and Vitali looks mad. Not a big deal, but you would think he would be smiling or something.

What was Vitali's injury again? Do you know? Or do you care

I'll tell you it was a torn ACL and that requires SURGERY schmuck....you can't WALK let a lone fight with that kind of injury.

A guy that age that has been in 35 pro boxing fights and GOD KNOWS how many amatuer boxing matches and pro kick boxing matches ......he knows when he can and can't fight

I think it's bullshit to call someone out like that, it's a pussy move. You call him out and had he fought you'd say "Well Rahman just beat the crap out of him" and suppose that happens, suppose his injury gets even WORSE and he retires....oh then the boo birds say "Rahman retired Vitali" and that is complete CRAP.

Hasim Rahman was disappointed I am sure because Vitali is a HUGE payday even now but #1 he was respectful of the man and said anytime you come back, I'll give you a shot if I have the belt #2 Judging by his title defense he better be fucking happy Vitali didn't take him up on it!

The risk-reward thing is real....this is why Oleg Maskaev doesn't fight David Tua eventhough Tuaman is old and fat, this is why Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley haven't fought each other because they were afraid of putting a 1 in the column under 'L'.....There are a number of reasons fights don't happen and there are a number of reasons fighters retire, have some respect for Vitali, he stepped it up vs Lennox Lewis on short notice and gave us one of the best fights of the last 10 years!

The fight was shown on german tv and they did make an interview with Vitali after the fight...
He was asked again the comeback-question and said like before ,if he is not a 100 percent he
wouldn't want to return and that he is not not at that level right now,but he didn't say that there
is no chance for a comeback...

I think it's just a question of time, before he returns to boxing...

    I was practically ringside!!!!!!!!!!
cc Man, One of these days I'll get another chance.
I have an unproven suspicion that Vitaly took some steriods in his day,
    that breaks your body continuously.

And Lyle, please don't spend 10 minutes on me on Vitaly.
I don't want to rise more angered people than necessary.
I don't even pay much mind to Vitaly these days. Most of my controversial Hard Thought
beliefs lie on Floyd Mayweather, to which I have suffered considerably in the sad click department.

And one these days I'm going to GET ringside seats back!!!
And Imma tease the hell outta yah BestP4P too! haha

For all that big big injury people say Vitali had. I'm under the impression that the doctor cleared him to fight that night didn't he? And Vitali didn't want to fight because he didn't like the "feel" of the knee brace
