    Default Ideal Weight?

Havnt started boxing yet, but I am interested, and trying to prepare for when I move close enough to a club. (See my post "Preperation") I was wondering what the ideal weight would be for someone who is 5'9? Right now, I am definatly not big enough, 5'9 and only 132 pounds. Will this be a disadvantage for me in a certain weight class gaining weight as opposed to someone who loses weight to make the same weight class?

None at all , you should know about power weight ratio through climbing same applys, but in Boxing you dont go for it as much. Theres nothing to stop you hitting the deck

i thought that when i realised i was 6ft and only 140lb but then i thought of this.

People say I'm to light for my height so this must be a rare thing for someone to be underweight in the fighting sport.

I am only gonna fight someone in my weight class, which means they will never be taller than me or have a longer reach because they'll be the correct weight for there height so the chances of them having the reach advantage score very much in my favour

No your a very decent height for you weight. You should have a good advantage with your height. You will find you probably have a greater reach advantage over stockier guys in your weight class. I'm the opposite, i'm 5'7 and 170lbs.

132-40 is a good weight but you don't need to put any lbs on.
