Why did Mosley and Johnstone never fight?

I mean, i know Castillio had a few run ins with him but i just over looked that as Castillo was on the rise still and was facing a tough journeyman...

The only thing that really bugged me was that Mosley was lightweight champ at the same time... So why did they never meet?

I say this is a question for the brain boxes because im assuming it came down to speculation afew times and im sure things were said about eac other?

It would be sad if they were completely oblivious to each other

From my understanding by the time it became a possibility of them meeting, Mosley was ready to move up in weight.

Mosley had indeed already moved up in weight & Stevie Johnston had been beaten by lesser caliber opposition & Mosley was headed towards stardom at the only time that they could have fought.

Johnston fought some game fighters...but he's lost to quite a few that are hard to understand why.

Oh well...better days ahead I suppose in his eyes.

But all the same I think Mosley would have won but it wouldn't have been easy. Stevie was a warrior with speed and ability, he was a very good fighter and I really support if he stays at Lightweight I would love to see him and Juan Diaz even Julio Diaz(who I think he could beat)

Big diffrence between Mitchell and Mosley. Big diffrence. Johnson was a good fighter. But he was never elite. If Johnson had problems with the bigger, stronger Cesar Bazan could you imagine what problems he would have with Mosley. Hell, the more I think about it the more I feel this would of been a mismatch. Mosley in 4.

I dont know why they didnt fight TBH. But all i would say is that Sugar Shane beats him handily, he was in another league to basically anyone at lightweight. QUALITY!

Mitchell fought him in 1994 and he was coming of a KO loss to Leveander Johnson... even Sharmba at his absolute best could have barely carried MOsleys jockstrap, at any weight.
