Default Anyone else excited for the return of Castillo

Jose Louis Castillo returns January 20th....I am a big fan of the guy....Personally I think he is the Margarito of boxing...The guy that is "Supposedly" the most feared guy out there...Except he is the real deal....Not saying that anyone ducks him or he is the best out there but he can ruin a night even if you do beat him you will be lumped up for a while that much is for sure!!!!...
The guy is all heart and action IMO at 140 once he gets a few fights in and comfortable at that weight ( even though he walks around heavier) he will be one of the top guys there...anyone else here think he will be a force at 140?

LMAO,I just mentioned him in your other thread! Yeah,I hadn't seen much of him prior to the Corrales fight but I have become a big fan since. I mean nearly every fight he is in is a war and I like his fights with Diaz,Lazcano,Corrales,Johnstone,Casamayor and PBF. I wouldn't say he is ducked though, he has certainly had more than enough shots at the big time and has earned respect. You are totally corect though,he makes a winner look like a loser, look at Chico's face after the first fight, and I still maintain that he beat PBF the first time.

As to your other point, this may sound silly but I don't think he will be a massive force at 140. Why? Ok,so at the weight in for the Corrales fight(second one I think),he was super super drained and looked like he was at death's door and he was actually at 139.5?!! Meaning that even making 140 will be a struggle for him. I actually think he would do better to move to 147 but then again,he would not be as much of threat there. Obviously I could be wrong and he may easily make 140 and if he is able to do so,apart from Hatton,I don't think anyone could beat him.

But I am going on record and saying this,Ricky Hatton will beat Castillo at 140. I'm super confident about this and will take on any bets from any of my fellow forum members. Why? Simple,as great a warrior JLC is,age will surely catch up to him,his face is getting cut up more and more and Hatton will be relentless in attacking his body. Hatton is younger, may be stronger, more relentless, and is a beast at 140. JLC is 31,surely all the wars will catch up to him somwhere?! Either way,it's going to be a war!!

I wish I can say I was excited about Castillo's return. The only thing he really has done is the great fighter with Corrales, otherwise he has had a good career but not much to it.

Personally Id like to see him beaten, I lost a lot of respect for him after twice coming in way too heavy for the Corrales rematches and seemingly making no effort to make weight. Hes a good boxer but I dont like him now, a cheat in my books!

He is one of the most underrated mexican boxers in the history of the sport, and should become an ATG IMO or at least a HOF.

his fight with corrales was a great war, but most of his fights are pretty boring to be honest. who was really entertained by the casamayor, diaz, reyes, and even mayweather fights?

Castillo has definitately had his moments in a long career. Recent events have tarnised his name though and he is getting on a little now. Not been Mr active recently because of the weight issues. Hatton would stop him...

After talking so much about Castillo he turns around in his next fight and does the same thing

You can't judge Castillo for coming in over for the rubber match with Corrales. Beer, burritos, and pussy was involved. Merely one of those three would be the Achilles heel of many a men. All three combined are near impossible to resist.

Anyways, I still like Castillo and am looking forward to his return. Not too interested in his fight with Ngoudjo but would like to see him rough up Hatton a bit.

I'll take you up on your bet. Anything you want. Castillo ain't hard to find. He comes right at you. Hatton has never faced a fighter whose style is as aggressive as Castillo's (and no Tszyu's style is nothing like Castillo's). I don't see Hatton as being stronger than Castillo. And while Hatton has a good body attack, I don't think it will bother Castillo. In case you forgot, Castillo is Mexican. He's been hit to the body his whole career. It'll be nothing new. If anything I'm more curious to see how Hatton will react to somebody attacking his body. Nobody ever has. And Castillo does possess a fine body attack of his own.
