First, what would most people consider TOO old to start boxing? Im 25 now, Im 5'5" and I weigh 122, I just had my fitness test and I could probably cut the 7-8 lbs body fat Im carrying pretty easily.
How many people would I normally see in my weight class? I figure my fighting weight would be somewhere around 115-118.
When fighting as an amatuer, is there a certain age limit that the fighters have to be? Like maybe 18 and under fighting other 18 and under then 18+ fighting 18+?
Depending on the intensity of the training, how long do people normally wait to have their first sparring session? First fight?
Thanks in advance fellas, this is a great informative site and I really appreciate all the answers.

I would imagine this would have to do with where you live and where you train. Here, in southern NJ, the lighter guys like me (I'm 5'10 130) seem to be the minority. I'm not sure if this is true of all areas, but it is in my gym at least. When sparring, weight class matters signifcantly less than when boxing competitivly. And assuming you do get to a competitive level, by that time you shouldnt have trouble finding fights in your weight class. Again, take this with a grain of salt. Someone more knowlegeable here please correct me if I'm wrong (or lemme know if I'm right
