Default “Fighting Words” – Jose Luis Castillo’s Critical Mass

I can't believe he is having trouble making weight. But i have to disagree with the article when it says that it would have been a better leap to the 147 pound division. I don't know just my opinion.

JLC belongs at 147. The guy was weight drained like hell last time out and he barely made 140 for his 135 title fight with Corrales. He's got decent size for a welterweight, he should just make the jump.

BTW, then my dream fight could then be made for late 2007, it would be called "DESPERATE MEASURES":

    ZAB JUDAH
    VS
    JOSE LUIS CASTILLO

FOR THE IBF WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD (AFTER JUDAH BEATS CINTRON TO GET HIS TITLE BACK)

    A little wishful thinking eh?

As of January 14 Castillo weights 146.5 pounds. His opponent Herman Ndgoujo is at 145.5 pounds. But have till Friday to get to 140.

6.5 pounds. That's 22,750 calories. He's gotta lose basically 3500 calories every day. I really don't know how these boxers do this crap man. That's absolute murder. He can't eat anything and then he has to burn 3500 calories on top of not eating a day for a whole week. I don't care what you say even if he makes the weight and rehydrates, he's gonna be weak as hell and very slow. Losing a pound a day for a whole week is extremely damaging on the body. Considering that he's already done this a bunch of times, his body must be destroyed already. To lose that he's gotta spar all day and still run six or seven miles.

Yeah that makes you think doesn't it... How fuking hard would it be to lose that kind of weight when your already in good physical condition with very low body fat.. This could be real bad for Castillo.. I wonder what will happen if he weighs over?? IT's a big shot for Herman as well, if he's up to it I doubt he'll find it easy to cancel the fight due to weight.
