I might attend this event seeing its only about an hour from my house, I like watching Popo fight the boy can crack![]()
One of THE most exciting fighters too watch cause you just as fast as he can hit the deck he too can make his opponets hit the deck and stay there....Originally Posted by JT Rock

Should be a VERY interesting fight once and for all Juan Diaz can shut me up cause all along I've said once he fought any of the top guys in his division he was gonna loose....
We'll see....
Good fight, monster puncher who can't box against a super quick, slick volume boxer who can't punch.
Personally I thought Freitas lost to Raheem and I'm expecting him to lose a slandslide UD this time around.
I like Juan Diaz, non stop energy levels, if he can stand up to Frietas power he wins easy.
If Freitas can tag him early and make him taste his power I think he has a chance at braking Juan down and can stop him. I've seen Juan hurt before IMO I think Freitas has enough power to hurt him.....Originally Posted by bilbo
If Juan can apply his pressure without getting discouraged IF Freitas lands his power punches then Juan will not let Freitas breath and will be on him likes flys on sh*t!....
Freitas and Diaz are both fucking cowards. With Freitas being the bigger one. Still he is the better fighter of the two. So I see him knocking out Diaz in the middle rounds and than going back to running away from Casamayor.Originally Posted by JT Rock

I'm not too keen on Diaz and have always thought if he comes up against someone who can hit hard,he;'' feel the power and his vooume of punches will slip and he'll eventually lose. This is that fight. Freitas looks silly with his awkward movements,he cannot box to save his life, why not just turn him back into the straight ahead monster banger!! And as harsh as it is,Freitas is slightly cowardly,I'm sure I read he turned down rematches with Corrales and Casamayor. And I thought he retired, what made him change his mind?
I fancy Freitas,late stoppage.
Nice, about time Diaz stepped up, one of my favorites but was wondering if he ever would.
I don't really think that Freitas' power is that scary at 135. Grigorian, Corrales and Raheem all didn't seem to have that much of a problem with it.
I guess that ridiculous spaz style he's been using lately could confuse Diaz but if Juan can cut off the ring, Freitas doesn't really have defense outside of movement and I think he'll be outworked.
Would love to see the winner face Katsidis!
Not too far from me, definitely worth going to see Diaz silence his critics

Any thoughts on the upcoming fight between Diaz and Freitas? I for one am looking forward to it. Freitas should be a great test for the baby bull, for that matter even though he will go in as an underdog Freitas is more than capable of pulling off the upset. I don't think it will happen but crazier things have happened. A win for Diaz would be a nice feather in his cap while on his way to challenging for supremacy within the division. A win for Freitas puts him right back in the mix with the best lightweights in the world and it would be another big name fighter that Popo could add to his list of victories.
What do you guys think?
Nice Article on the Lightweight Division

I like this fight. Have always been a Freitas fan, but cannot help but feel that he has slipped over the past years. Both in technique and perhaps some desire. He was a dirt poor kid from the Favelas in Brazil and he made it, he's rich and an icon there. It's gotta be tough to keep the hunger. He is less intense in the ring than he used to be, nor does he put guys out like he used to. Diaz continues to impress. He is better I think, than people realize. Physically he doesn't look that impressive, he is very young and maturing with every fight. He is relentless in there, much how Freitas used to be. Freitas is gonna have to match him punch for punch or he's going to get overwhelmed. I think Freitas will find his heart in this fight and have his moments, but I don't think it will be quite enough. Diaz 116-111.
I think Freitas is gonna win this one. I dont think "el torito" cang hang with his power for 12 rounds. Freitas has fought the bestter opposition in the past. It should be a good fight. This will be Diaz's first big test, he doesnt have much power tho, from what I've seen, more of a technical boxer.
I don't think Freitas has shown big time power at 135. The European guy, can't remember his name, looked like Freddy Mercury, handled his power all right, Raheem handled it all right, and Corrales, supposedly chinny as all hell, handled it without many problems. I guess it depends on Juan's chin, but if its solid I think he'll be all right.
Freitas is akward as hell, flying around the ring, running around guys to throw rights but if Diaz cuts down the ring well he could easily outwork Popo.
