    Default Current HW Rankings

Just looking through some of the HW rankings of the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO and I'm a bit puzzled by it all. I would really like to know how these 'organizations' compile their data and then formulate these ridiculous 'rankings'. How does Austin get the #2 ranking under the WBA while Peter, Byrd and Klitschko don't even break the top 15? For the love of God, they even have Meehan and Holyfield in their top 15:

I could go on and on about how suspect this all looks, but I'm sure that most of you will see the same when you browse through these rankings. What gives here?

1- they're alpabet gangs. Dont ever take them seriously.
2- the way to get higly ranked by an alphabet gang is to pay them sanctioning fees/bribes. Good fighters dont need the alphabet backings to get big fights so they ignor them, thus leaving the sactioned fights for rankings, open to the middle tier fighters who still need recognition.

But that doesn't make any sense. If a fighter is going to fight for a title he has to pay the sanctioning fees that go along with the title he's fighting for, right? For example: If Valuev fought Peter and the title was on the line, wouldn't Peter have to go through the same crap and pay sanctioning fees for the fight? If the fees weren't paid, I don't think the sanctioning body would sanction the fight.

yeah, but you also have to pay the large sanctioning fees when fighting for certain rankings. Like Peter paid 100k in sanctioning fees to become the WBC #1
