Shame its not up to Khan
in all fairness to Warren he is right to protect Khan because he just isnt as good as he thinks he is![]()
ITV'S BITCH
Is his power gonna be suspect too at the higher end of the scale?Go and look back through these stoppages and there a difinate pattern of the ref leaping in way,way too early.
Khant knock his confidence though.
yeah mate noticed that about his power some time ago
power and chin are find against these non hitters with suss chins they are feeding him now... but will become a major factor when/if they ever move him up.
I always feel like i slate Khan too much but im just putting the hype into focus... he might end up maturing into the fighter everyone seems to think he is going to be. and i really hope that happens as we need as many future stars in the UK that we can get.
but as of this stage for me he is chinny and his power will be piss poor at the higher level.
I think he'd give Murray problems and beat him but Thaxton can bang and does (like you said) seem to be getting better.
Thing is Amir himself is piling the pressure on ITV/Warren to make these fights and i bet they love him for it

I agree -perhaps its not the game plan !Originally Posted by Smashup

I know Thaxton & Murray struggle to get a mention in the press- so this is helping their causes too.
I have not seen him against anyone with decent power,do these have 2 have power? Khan is quite open at times and bumrushes an opponent, does not set up the combos with the jab enough. Good bodyshots though!
KHAN-"I want Thaxton or Murray next"........Not as much as they want you mate I bet.![]()
look here at what I Saw in the article
Khan is sick of the likes of British lightweight champion Jon Thaxton, Manchester's unbeaten John Murray and superfeatherweight Kevin Mitchell calling him out.
The Olympic silver medallist, who took his perfect pro record to 12 straight with a third-round stoppage of Steffy Bull on his live US TV debut, claims he would love to silence them, but will leave Frank Warren to choose his next opponent.
I know I'm not the only one who noticed that.
Seriously, look at his last fight, looks good on paper. Then you realise out of 24 wins Bull has, only 5 are by knockout, and all of his losses are BY knockoutOriginally Posted by Saddo
Then theres Mejadji, and his scary power that created 3 KO's,and 2 out of his 4 losses are by KO
Khan would be better served to learn to walk before he can run.
12 fights in to your career is not the time to start calling people out
he needs to fight a power puncher, thaxton for his 15th fight would be good, but not now, get him a few more rounds
I agree with Saddo, it isn't that you're hating on a fighter but trying to cut through the crap. Yes we want our boxers to do well but at the same time you've got to call it as you see it and having a fight like on Saturday I don't think helps his development at all. Of course not every fight should be an all out scrap but have someone who is going to put up some resistance or offer something to make him think.
Thaxton is a good match, he can be outboxed and Khan has the skills and speed to do that but he can bang that adds an element of danger to the fight.
For just about the first time ever I was genuinely impressed with Khan. Forget Bull's limitations for a second and that Khan wasn't the same amateur kid of a few fights ago. Unless ive lost the plot, of course.
Only question mark left for me is the chin.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
