    Default Those darn rowdy Mexicans!

Let's not turn this into a nappy headed ho incident.

    Those darn rowdy Mexicans!
(I am Mexican American) Don't hate cus the title.
Texan's are azzholes. This is why Bush fit in Texas so well.

Manny Pacquaio's Priest: Drunken Bums Threw Beer At Pinoy Idol!
    www.boxingconfidential.com
    Michael Marley
    4/15/2007

SAN ANTONIO--My source is connected to a Higher Power. My source knows the Big Guy and I don't mean Don Jose Sulaiman or Bob Arum. My source is none other than Manny Pacquaio's close personal friend and "priest."

And my source said some Neanderthals in the Alamodome showered Pacman and his entourage with warm beer as they made their way from the dressing room to the ring Saturday night at the Alamodome. Once in that ring, Pacman took eight rounds to solve the style of rangy Jorge Solis but solve it he did, dropping the Mexican boxer twice for the knockout.

Getting back to the beer shower, there was more than one cup of less than frosty cerveza tossed at Pacman and his posse as they came out of the tunnel from the dressing room. At least one member of Pacma's crew wanted to wade into the nearly 100 percent Mexicano crowd and start dispensing some Pinoy payback for the rude and obnoxious behavior.

But Manny himself told everyone to ignore the people," Fr. Marlon Beof told me when we met by coincidence at the San Antonio Airport early Sunday morning. Fr. Beof is a teacher of seminarians and is based at the Tagaste Monastery in Suffern, New York. "Manny was focused on the fight and everybody just kept moving toward the ring."

I didn't share this with Pacman's Padre but I've seen worse behavior by fans at a fight card in the Alamo City.

On June 15, 1991, at the Hemisfair Arena, local hero and world champ Robert Quiroga (who was stabbed to death in 2004) waged a classic slugfest which left his opponent, Kid Akeem Aniofowoshe, unconscious.

Kid Akeem, a fallen warrior who had a blood clot on the brain and never boxed again, was taken out of the ring on a stretcher and rushed to an ambulance. As the medical people tried to push their way through the crowd, one miserable drunk dropped his pants and urinated in the direction of the stretcher and the prone African boxer. I was walking out of the arena, trying to follow the story, and I saw this contemptible action. To make it worse, I saw other fans laughing at the ultimate show of disrespect for a badly injured prizefighter. Some of those cretins tossed beer cups at Kid Akeem.

In my 40-plus years around big-time boxing, that is the low point for fan behavior that I've personally witnessed.

So, in one way, I suppose Pacman and his entourage were lucky. By the way, could they be sure it was only beer that was hurled at Manny and his merry band of men?

"I can tell you this," Fr. Beof said, "it was definitely not holy water."

    Amen to that.

Wow those are really rowdy mexicans ... I have this to say to everyone. Some of my fellow Filipinos might be talking trash and bullshit here in the forums (and i don't agree to that), they may seem very rowdy, but when it comes to real life, we are decent and give fighters the respect they deserve. When Larios and Morales (for his advertisement with San Miguel Beer) came to the Philippines, they were greeted warmly and Morales even came back because he likes it here in the Philippines and also because of the friendly reception we Filipinos gave him.

Like in all ethnicity groups you WILL always have a handful of them with no respect and education what so ever.

Look at what they did to Ronaldo when Madrid played at Zaragosa I think it was they hurled a 'Pigs' head at him a real pigs head NOT plastic... A FWOCKEN pigs head.

This isn't a ethnicity thing, this is a human thing.

I personally was at that fight in the 11th row of section 105 where the entrance was and about 9 seats away from where the beer was thrown. I didn't see who threw it but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Mexican. I didn't even realize a beer or beers were tossed until my friend brought it to my attention. Their certainly was a lot of Mexican pride in the Alamodome due to all the Mexicans on the card winning their fights and the beer consumed. Even when Manny was shown on the jumbotron he was constantly booed during the Filipino national anthem. I wasn't too surprised by that but was embarrassed that someone would toss a beer at Manny. But like with all races you have your idiots such as the beer tossers and not to mention all the fights in the crowd. I'm Mexican-American and love to drink like most of my Mexican buddies but we aren't belligerent drunks. From my seat I counted 3 fights that were in the crowd. I was also surprised by the lack of Filipinos at the fight who were out numbered my Mexicans I would say easily 10 to 1. Regardless it was a great night and I had a blast.

its not a race thing, theres just idiots out there thats not man enough to control themself when drunk. they must of hate pac for beating on the fighters that happen to be mexican. so what if they are mexican or whatever pac doesn't look at it more then just competition. yup those who showed pac and his crew hate we're just a bunch of idiots. they just add on how big of a sour loser they are.

i hate to hear this happen to pac, his the last fighter that this kind of fan behavior should happen too. no wonder the pacman wasn't smiling much when he was walking to the ring. but gotta give it up to pac, THERE IS JUST NO ONE OUT THERE THAT CAN CARRY HIMSELF AND POUND OPPENENTS TO QUITING, LIKE THE PACMAN

I was personally disgusted at what these idiots did because Manny is a great guy. I'm sure they were haters upset that he has beaten all these Mexican greats minus JMM but thats no excuse for their actions. At the weigh in Manny was cool as can be signing autographs and taking pics. Unlike Jorge Arce the only fighter unwilling to mingle with the fans at the weigh in and who should have gotten the tossed beer for all the shit talking he did.
