As I mentioned in another thread, with the monies both gentlemen earned for this fight (Combined estimate of $100 million gross of tax), they could have shown more pride and gave a show worth talking for generations to come.

I remember watching fights in YOUTUBE without the benefit of an ear piece and great fights always stood out. Watch castillo - corrales and you will see what I mean. Now try watching OLDH - PBF without sound and hype and what do you get? Nothing really except two men laughing all the way to the bank.

Why should it have been a war?
If you were Floyd, why would you open up and let Oscar hit you for no reason at all?
If you tuned into this thing expecting Hagler - Hearns, you were only fooling yourself.

You got to see Oscar give it all he had like we expected him to.
We got to see Floyd put on a beautiful technical performance like we expected him to.
    What did you want?

I'll play your experiment of watching the fight over without sound if you'll play my experiment.
Go back in time and watch the fight over again without expecting Hagler - Hearns. Then you'll see a good fight, I swear.

Yeah it's pretty easy to want to stand and go toe to toe when you are the bigger guy. You try goin toe to toe with the bigger guy when that guy is a six weight division champ named Oscar Delahoya. Floyd landed more punches and more power punches so how did he not fight? People accuse him of running. It's actually called "sticking and moving". It is usually what you have to do to keep a bigger man off you in a fight where you are physically outgunned. Floyd did what he had to do and that was stick, move and box. He stayed on the ropes a little too much in this fight if u ask me but all of Oscar's desperate punch combinations that he through at those points when he did have PBF backed up to the ropes, almost all of those punch combinations were deflected by that shoulder roll/twisting/contorting defense of the p4p king. if he was running the whole time and not fighting he wouldnt have won the fight. Like Floyd said before, "...if Oscar knew how to "run" like me, his ass wouldnt have lost to Trinidad and Mosley the second time..."

You just answered what I found wrong about the fight. Why did PBF have to fight a bigger man? He already knew he could not fight toe to toe. So his strategy was to evade and pick his shots. Fine for him, bad for us who expected much more because of all the hype. Didn't you want to see PBF dominate OLDH? Did he? PBF dominated Gatti. He even hurt Baldomir. But did PBF honestly dominate OLDH? Again, this fight to me was a mockery. It was all "show me the money". Both men could have gone another 10 rounds the way they looked after 12 rounds. Man, if someone offered me 1 million dollars for a fight, I will fight as if there was no end. Both men received $100 million dollars combined. With hardly a sweat. What? For us to see one man pick his shots and for the other to have intermitent flurries? Both men could have laid it on the line and prove to each other who was the better man. But no, why do that when we will earn $100 million anyway regardless.

Oh, I agree. I would've loved to see Hagler - Hearns type fight as much as anyone.
But going into this fight, that's not what I was expecting.
I was expecting to see Oscar vs Floyd. I left all that 24/7 and press conference hype to those who aren't familiar with the fighters to begin with. The fight was sold to me the second it was announced.
So in that regard, I wasn't disappointed at all with the fight.
Anyone who was expecting two other guys in the ring were fooling themselves.
Would you have enjoyed the fight more if you were safe in the knowledge they were making less money?
Would you have enjoyed the fight more had you not heard any of the prefight hype?

That stuff doesn't matter to me.
Let 'em make $100 million dollars if the industry supports them.
I went in expecting to see Oscar vs Floyd and I got it.
    That's all I'm getting at.
