    Default Vargas-Mayorga on Sept 8?

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...VdlhnvoLV.html

In an interview with David Lassen in the Sunday edition of the Ventura County Star, former world champion Fernando Vargas stated his last bout is tentatively set for Saturday, September 8th at a venue in Los Angeles. Vargas will not only be the headliner, but will serve as the promoter under his new promotional company, Vargas Entertainment Promotions. Word is Junior Middleweight Alfonso Gomez has already signed under Vargas' promotional company. Vargas has dismissed critics for following through with his fight against former world champion Ricardo Mayorga. "I've got one more great fight in me. People can say what they want to say. This will be the last hurrah. Win, lose, or draw. That's it." The fight against Mayorga will be fought at a catch-weight of 162 pounds, eight pounds heavier than what he last fought at. "That 8 pounds is the world," Vargas says, "and people don't understand that.

Ugh. Hopefully they don't even try to pretend like this is PPV material.

I, for one, am looking forward to a slobber, and perhaps, even a knocker.
But I have had my heart broken many a time by rumours of a Vargas and Mayorga showdown.
I must ask, how much more can a heart take?
Am I to welcome them back into my life, only to be trampled on again?
Or am I to shun them, just as they have shunned me in the past and perhaps miss out on something that can be great?
Oh, the decisions a young girl must make on the eve of whatever tomorrow brings.

I'd like to see Vargas win this. Hopefully, Mayorga starts running his mouth, and we get a slugfest.

And also..Well it probably wont be..

But you cannot say this fight is not a VERY interesting concept of a fight between two former world champions...

They should put Leonard-Hagler II on as the co-feature.

No way Hagler would agree to be on the undercard of a Vargas fight he has way more left in the tank.

There's goes Hulk again hoping for another Mayorga win...haha. I hope this is a good fight but the truth is THEY SUCK at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see both of them KO eachother (simultaneously)and not get up. That would be funny as hell.

No it wouldn't. And besides it ain't gonna happen. Mayorga is gonna knock Vargas out, and it will be an exciting fight thats for sure while it lasts.

    Hulk,

It looks like the fights gonna land here in Los Angeles depending on the card & the price of the tickets I might attend the fight. I know this fights ending in a spectacular KO and I wanna witness it......

Being that punk azz Guzman pulled out of the Katsidis fight I'm trying desperately to find events to attend.... It also looks like the Margarito vs. Williams is also landing here in Los Angeles too but no venue has been mentioned yet...

CC. Ya know, I'm almost 20 now, and honestly this MIGHT be the last time in my life I will have the chance to see my hero, Mayorga, fight LIVE, so if I can get my buddy to come with me, we might just have to come down there and see the fight too. You only live once.
