The Jermain Taylor versus Cory Spinks fight may well have bored most boxing fans rigid, but for research physicists in America it was the most thrilling event to take part in many years.

Although the battle between the two fighters was anything but, there was in fact a much more powerful and altogether more mysterious conflict going on, one that had scientists salivating at the thought of it for many weeks prior to the fight.

Mathematician and chaos theory expert Noah Chiddingbottom explains, 'During the Spinks Taylor fight we got to witness two of the most powerful newly discovered universal forces in conflict with each other for the first time. The first force, dubbed Taylor's charm regards his seeming mesmorisation of the ringside judges into voting a fight his way regardless of his fight performance. So far the law has always proven constant even when the seeming reality of the situation dictated another result entirely.'

'However', continues Professor Chiddingbottom, ' For the very first time in this fight Taylor's Charm would come up against another law, regarded by some theorists to be the most immutable universal law of all, even stonger than gravity itself. Known as Miles' Law this recently discovered force is said to be so strong that the destiny's of entire nations have been altered and even the future can be rewritten!

The law is interesting because it is what is known as a 'negative' force and originates in the mind of just one man, thought to be living somewhere in Korea and who makes his predictions on a Saddo Boxing website. When this man makes a prediction, a negative energy is released that works against the prediction and destroys it utterly. This month Miles has predicted Jermain Taylor to win, game on!

According to the data currently gathered there has so far been no event that Miles law has predicted to happen that has actually occured. The failure rate is astonishing at 100%

So when the two fighters met on the weekend of May 19 2007 the scientific community was eagerly awaiting the result.

On the face of it, it should have been an easy win for Jermain Taylor. By far the bigger man, against a man moving up two weight classes from his natural weight, a complete non puncher against a puncher, and one whom had a suspect chin having been knocked out brutally just a few fights ago.

But Miles law served to nullify any advantage that Taylor might have. Spinks suprised most of the entire boxing world by outboxing Jermain Taylor and making him look foolish at times, something that statistically should have been impossible, especially given Spink's tendency to fall apart after 8 rounds. It was clear Miles Law was working hard to sabotage the fight prediction made by Miles himself that Taylor would win the fight easily.

However after twelve rounds it went to the judges and by the narrowest of margins, a split decision no less Taylor's Charm proved able to neutralise the normally lethal effects of Miles Law and Jermain Taylor got the win!

A shocked Chiddingbottom said, ' We wern't expecting this result quite frankly! We knew Taylor's Charm was strong but our research indicated that Miles law was the immutable law and could not be broken. This groundbreaking research has forced to revise our current theoretical models of how chaos theory actually works.

In fact scientists now believe that a proper understanding of Taylor's Charm could lead to the most radical scientific breakthrough in history. If we can harness Taylor's Charm and apply it to non boxing situations we feel we will have the power to make elections fair again.

Currently George Bush, the self proclaimed idiot and madman has enjoyed an 7 year reign of terror as the President of the United States. It has always been believed that his bizarre appointment and even more shocking realection last term were only made possible by Miles Law having predicted an easy win for the Democrats.

Chiddingbottom now believes that Taylor's Charm could break the Miles curse and see this rectified at the next general election.

Here's hoping...........
