Need help guys with virus checkers etc

I looking for the best virus checkers,system cleaners and pop up blockers. 'm sure I have some viruses but I only have basic virus checkers at the moment. Let me know what you use etc.

Also,when you use a library eraser,is your internet history etc really wiped away forever,never to be found again? What is best for this? Let me know,CC's for any responses.

From the sounds of it, you've checked out a very shady porn site But from what i've actually used, Norton firewall works really well and no clearing your history doesn't actually get rid of everything just enough so that someone getting on your comp won't find most sites you've visited but if someone knows where to look for it, they can find every site you've visited on that comp unless you do some crazy stuff to it.

With a firewall, scanners come with it, and they're great to have for future problems. I got the one that came with my internet provider and it works really well.

I'm actually intersted in responses as well to this one... I downloaded a virus not to long ago.. I know exactly how I downloaded and install it and it was a moment of stupidity... But I tried for a month with about 15 different programs to try to get rid of it but no luck.. I searched for all sorts of recommendations & went through a tonne of processes but in the end, it was only that my whole lap top crashed and I had to get a whole new hard drive that solved the problem..

The hard drive wasn't a result of the virus, but I think I would have had to format it in the end to remove the virus anyway...
Now i've got a new hard drive i'm not going to make the same mistake twice.

AVG free edition. I have never had a virus in all the years using it. CCleaner is also very good at getting rid of all the shit on your comp. I also use Ad-Aware for getting rid of spyware.

I use mozilla firefox for my browser, I find it to be much better then internet explorer although from what I understand explorer has changed to adapt many of the features of firefox. Along with that I also use symantic anti virus as my virus checker and I also use ad-aware plus to battle the spyware issues. All of these combined seem to do a fine job with no issues. As far as deleting private data and current history i would say anyone with good computer knowledge could find just about eveything you have done on that computer. They sell many programs that claim to erase all data but i would be leary of there claims.

I've never played 'Virus Checkers' whats the difference between that and the regular checker game?

I usually play solitary and occaisionally I'll play pinball.

nod 32 is pretty impressive. ccleaner is also good for cleaning those unwanted files

I have been using Windows One Live and I am comfortable with it. Since it's Microsoft is automatically downloads updates for your system.

I think the best thing you can do for yourself is forget the free porn and movies, don't make enemies, and cross your fingers.

Logout of sites when you not using them and you could even go so far as to unplug your DSL when you are sleepong or out of the house. I've never gotten a Trogan using dialup but I have been ravaged with them on highspeed.
