Default What 's next for Hatton assuming....

What's next for Ricky Hatton assuming he beats Castillo next week and i believe he will.
The overwhelming majority on this forum would like to see Cotto v Margarito by the end of the year, where does this leave the fat boy? Mayweather won't fight him, he will fight DLH again or Mosley then fight the winner of Cotto V Margo if he comesback at all.
Hatton needs to win next week very convincingly to be taken seriously by the biggest names out there,
I don't believe he will fight Witter or N'dou or Malignaggi..Whaddyathink?

Hatton is a small welterweight. I think he should try the Cotto fight and that is a best fight for his sizewise and the best fighter he can fight who he can beat.

If he beats Castillo but struggles to get a big name next i would then like him to come back to england and fight Witer in a big british fight.

If he's serious about securing his legacy,he'll movet o 147 and fight one of the big boys there like Cotto etc. People say that he did not have enough time to prepare for Collazo,it would be his oppertunity to prove the doubters wrong. Or he could clean up at 140,win all the titles but I'm not sure who would be impressed by that. Or the JLC fight may be a classic and so close that they need a rematch?

hatton should beat castillo. then i think a tune up fight at 147 to get settled at the weight then i think the cotto fight could come off early next year hopfully.

I've got a feeling he will fight Castillo twice as there will be nobody else out there for him not all his rivals fight in the man's division. He will probably face Castillo, then go after a paper cup title to get his confidence back and then have the rematch with Castillo.

After Ricky beats Castillo, he and his team should call out,Mayweather, from retirement. 2 undefeated champions, How many millions would this fight make?. made at catchweight, who cares about winning belts, would be richest fight in history[ between none heavys] the interest in this fight would be mind blowing

i like the way u think man. would make more money over in england. the gate receipt bein the main factor . coz i bet hatton mayweather could fill out 80000 seats at the new wembley, i no id be there. it might be hard for mayweather to turn down. it would be huge money. i think 147 should be the weight as i said tho hatton would need a tune up at 147 before.

you are right - it would sell out wembley no problem

failing that he should take on Witter, that would sell out Man City stadium no problem and the money would be awesome for a domestic fight

4 or 5 more for him then quit - don't think any of them will be easy mind
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate

This will never happen, anyway the world at large would much rather see Mayweather vs Cotto, Mayweather vs Mosely or even Mayweather vs De La Hoya again.

I thought most people stopped wanting to see Mayweather vs Hatton halfway through 2006. It would be a mismatch, just not competitive.

Hatton will probably beat Castillo, then come back home, have a big final fight against Soulemayne M'baye and then retire undefeated to open a pie shop in Manchester.

Money talks,----- a big win by Ricky against Castillo, and the skys the limit, with great reports, and the band-wagan rolling, WEMBLEY, sounds good to me, why should the yanks have it all, under card, Calzaghi, KHAN, HAYE,Just one more big name MAYWEATHER

I'd like to see him fight either Witter or Cotto but I think he will be fed another winable fight.

The winner of Malignaggi - Ndou looks likely . Both dont interest me and wouldnt prove much as they are the losers against Coot and Witter , the guys i'd liek to see him fight .

Ndou would be outboxed and outpunched . Malignaggi would be pressurised making his work ineffective so Hatton beats these guys quite comfortably .

Mayweather at Wembley. It would sell out at maybe £100 aticket on average giving $16 million at the gates alone. Add a 3am fight time to please HBO/Boxoffice/Whoever and the PPV would be huge. It would get around 500k in the uk which is an extra $10-$15 million. So thats around $30 million before the US PPV is even considered.

This makes financial sense as well as helping both fighters to cement a legacy. Mayweather may deny it, but his record needs Cotto/Hatton/Mosley.
