It was ruled a No Contest because Maynard was knocked out. I think he should have won it to stay consistant, since Matt Hughes did the same thing with Carlos Newton and got the win for it. But yeah what a crazy Finale!

Actually, it isn't a problem in UFC. There are more serious injuries in College Wrestling than in UFC. It just happens occasionally.

if we are going to talk about a fighters life and well being, then boxing caused more permanent life altering injuries and even death than MMA in a year.

Well fight 3 5 minute rounds with chokeholds and so on and have what 30 or so fights for a career....yeah it's such a dangerous and extreme sport.

As I have stated before it's either more brutal or more safe, it's not both
