I just thought I would join in the latest trend to ask the most inane and pointless questions, thus advertising the fact that the original poster is a brain-dead slack-jawed retard who thinks people actually care what little is going in within the vast and echoing empty caverns of his mind.

Well it clearly depends on the type of contest in question. I'm assuming by small "ethiopian" campfire you're refering to a fire that is oxygen deprived and therefor not very powerful. I will use that assumption to answer your question.

Competitive Eating: I give the edge to the cup because i feel it could hold more food.

Lumberjack Competition: Clearly the fire has the edge as plastic doesn't work well in cutting wood.

Triathelon: Cup takes swimming, fire takes running, and i give fire the edge on biking but only if its a relatively short course.

Boxing: Interesting match-up. If the cup keeps rushing forward and swarms the fire, he can exstinguish him early. If the fire can stay away and gradually melt the cup, he'll manage a UD or maybe even a late stoppage. A virtual toss-up if you ask me.

MMA: Cup has a huge edge here as he is the dominant striker and has a much better ground game. Fire has no chance and barely lasts a minute.

Strongman Competition: Fire sweeps the fingal fingers and atlas stones. Despite that, I give cup the advantage in most other events.

Skateboarding Best Trick: The cup can use himself as a parachute and pick up massive air which would be impressive but anything on fire looks cooler therefor, fire wins.

Racing: I feel fire would be more aggressive and once he got the lead, he'd cruise on to victory.

Science Fair: Fire has more options, edge to him.

Picking up women: Cup has an easy time letting people get to know him but has a hard time letting go. His borderline obsession will cost him. Fire is hot and spontaneous. No brainer here.

US Presidential Election (insert joke about bush here): Cup (R) is very conservative in his views but thoroughly believes in free trade which hurts the middle class and creates an economy thats solely dependent on the well being of the wealthy. Fire (D) would rather boost up domestic business, but with his pro-gay marriage and pro-abortion stance coupled with his reluctancy to toughen up laws against illegal aliens, he's a long shot. Leaf (I) is running as an independent but seeing as how he seems to change his mind with the wind direction, he has very little support and lacks the true funding to become president.

Although I'd be pulling for the Small Ethiopian Fire here, I truly question whether it could even proceed past the Triathelon.

The match up is between a standard plastic cup and a small ethiopian camp fire. The fire is just small enough to take awhile to melt down the cup but just large enough to not be completely oxygen choked with one covering of the cup.
