OK, so I've watched UFC 1-64 so far and these are the guys that stand out to me so far!
Not in order - just the ones that impressed me most

    Matt Hughes
    Randy Couture
    Tito Ortiz
    Chuck Liddell
    Rich Franklin
    Georges St Pierre
    BJ Penn

    What do you think?

They are pretty good picks, they would be the top of anyones list regarding the UFC. It goes to show how much the sport has evolved from the beginning. You must have some square eyes mate after watching that lot. Some great KO's in there.

Hughes - trigg 2 is something else. One of my favourite fights. Simply because Hughes was out of it then with that fukking crazy strength he has just lifted Trigg and slammed him! Awesome.

What did you think of some of the earlier Tank Abbott stuff? lol...fat sod but he could certainly bang. I loved watching his fights. He was alwasy gassed after 3 mins...then easy pickings for anyone. If he caught you though thats it.

    Tank vs Kimbo? lol

Yeh loved watching Tank - like you say the geezer could bang no doubt, but he was like a lame duck after a few mins when he gassed out - Coleman was a strange one - looked incredible for his first 5 fights then went to sh1t

Maybe too much muscle to have the staimna needed

Yeah I was just jealous you were watching all this UFC and I wasn't

Just kidding lol I'm glad you are enjoying them, now you can see first hand why MMA is such a great combat sport! Those fights you mentioned were amazing, especially Trigg/Hughes 2. I know a lot of people don't like Hughes but he showed the heart and strength of a champion in that fight.

Yeah, Coleman had a bad run for a while.

He did however, afterwards, win the Pride Grand Prix 2000. That was probably the most loaded MMA tournament that there had been up until that point.

In some respects, using his UFC fights as a gauge for his career is deceptive. He lost three fights in a row in the UFC. Then he lost (read: threw) a fight against Nobuhiko Takada in Pride. After that though he had a nice run winning the Pride Grand Prix 2000 beating Igor Vovchanchyn, who was the original frightening Eastern European, in the final.

Coleman, and his running buddy Kevin Randleman, have certainly been hurt by not evolving, as they should have. Coleman has had a good career though. Even his recent record isn’t what it appears. In his last seven fights he is 3-4. That doesn’t look good. When you look at the guys he’s lost to in that time it looks very different. His losses are Fedor (twice), Big Nog and Cro-Cop. Most heavyweights would lose to those three.

Guys, this MMA shit is addictive! I love the weight classes and various fighters styles! I've been watching K1,UFC,Pride,Shooto,RINGS(or something like that) and have become ALMOST as obsessed as I am with boxing. I think PRIDE is by far and away the best, most exciting. I love the yellow card idea.

Big H,have you seen the change between UFC from the beginning until now? Incredible right? It used to be so trashy and way too violent, not very professional and not much skill! All the guys were like that idiot Tnk Abbott!

My favourite fighters so far have to be:

    Fedor

Shogun(his resume for the last 2 years is amazing!!!!!)

    Wanderlei(I know I know but I don't think he's lost it yet)

I'm intrigued by Sokoudjou and I Nogueira(the 1 that fought Fedor) is awesome too. There alots of other more obscure fighters that have been awesome too.
