Prior to this fight Taylor was saying that it's his last fight at Middleweight. Now I hear there's a rematch clause. Will it be at 160 or 168? Does Pavlik have to fight at 168?
Can anyone shed any light on this for me, please?
Thank you...

The rematch clause stated that if Pavlik won, Taylor could demand a rematch, and that rematch didn't have to be at 160, it could be at 166. This was because Taylor has had trouble making weight in recent fights.Originally Posted by taansend

However, all reports were that Taylor didn't have trouble getting down to 160 this time. And Pavlik is the bigger guy, so I think going over the weight limit would help him just as much or maybe even more than it would help Taylor.
If Taylor wants a rematch, I still think there's a good chance it's at 160 and for the title.
That was the clause at 168 but look at it this way, Pavlik was bigger in this match and he will be bigger in the rematch. Taylor will try to do what he did in the second round and try to finish off the job. He won't be able to and Taylor will get his azz knocked out again in the later rounds. Taylor tried to explode like Zab Judah does but the same thing that happens to Judah will happen to Taylor, if he can't get 'er done he will fall apart late.
YEEHAA!
Gents (or ladies),
CC's to you both. I appreciate the responses. I also feel that Pavlik will be better the 2nd time around. I thought Taylor would win and KP would go on to be champ but I over-estimated/under-estimated the guys....

tAYLOR HAS A SMALL GAS TANK
So wotever the poundage he looses
It wouldn't suprise me if Taylor passed on the rematch for two reasons:
1. A fight against the Kessler-Calzaghe winner would be a big pay day and Taylor does want to fight at 168.
2. He dished out his best shots to Pavlik and still got beat (KO'd in fact). Must have been frustrating as hell. I doubt he wants Kelly again.
Taylor will last longer in the rematch but he will still get ko'ed.
I disagree of courseIf Taylor can stay away from a flush right hand from Pavlik for 36 minutes he wins (easier said than done). Possibly by K.O and finish the job he started. I want to see this rematch now!
