Read the part where the interviewer asks him about fighting Casamayor. Kats asks has he got a title? Interviewer replies the RING title. Kats-thats just a magazine.

Is this how most fighters view the RING magazine title? Talk about demeaning it! If the fighters dont recognise it,how legit is the RING then? He's slated to fighting the winner of Diaz v Diaz.

They are given this almost religious sacrosanct status by fans but they actually mean F*** in real terms.

All the Ring is is a magazine! Their rankings are nothing more than the opinion of its editors and reviewers. Now I agree that their rankings are 100 times more accurate than the governing bodies but they are still meaningless in real terms.

Lets use a soccer example here.

When the World Cup draw is made the teams are seeded according to their recent performances.

Now Shoot or Match magazine will no doubt have its view of who are the best teams in the tournament, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, France etc and their opinions may well be shared by the vast majority of people so in a sense be 'true' or 'accurate'.

BUT the seedings are based on performance factors and not majority opinion.

For example when lowly Greece stunned the world by winning the European Championships last time around nobody on God's earth would consider them probably even in the top 8 teams in Europe BUT it doesn't matter they ARE the European champs whether anyone likes it or not and no Shoot or Match Magazine poll is going to change that.

Not sure if you were being serious or sarcastic at first but I'm glad you (hopefully) do agree with me.

Now I'm not at all against people having opinions as to who the best fighters are in each division, but they are just that opinions, even if they are true.

Take for example the super featherweight division. Everyone says Manny Pacquiao is THE MAN in that division but he's not, J M Marquez is by virtue of beating Barrera and taking his title. Pacquiao doesn't hold any title in that division.

Now I agree that Pacman is a ahead in the P4P rankings BUT the P4P ranking ARN'T REAL RANKINGS!!!

They are hypothetical based on who we think has achieved most, kind of like saying Germany are the most European soccer nation ever. But they arn't champions now Greexe are even if historically and even right now they are better.

So Katsidis got it bang on as far as I'm concerned.
